Borefts VI. Day 2. Keg. Gutted to find this turned up instead of the Port BA, oh well! Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is airy and soft. Semi dry with fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, rich but there is no roast. Mild dark chocolate. Mellow Laphroaig whisky, no massive TCP thankfully. Light finish, mild alcohol spice.

[9/26/14] Draught sample at Borefts Beer Festival 2014 in Bodegraven. Black with a beautiful thick brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, wood and smoked whiskey. Sweet flavor, somewhat boozy, with dark chocolate, coffee, pralines, roast, smoked whiskey and a dry finish, a bit burnt with some more coffee. Full-bodied. A bit too boozy, but good.

Tap at BBF’14. Pours deep brown with a light marroon head. First thing that pops out of the glass is a smooth and elegant peat scent, next to dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee beans. Huge body, creamy and very very rich. Nice peat amounts but not too much at all, all integrates well and the taste is just lovely!
