22 oz bottle, 5/30/12. Dark brown with a tan head. Nose is caramel, peanut, coffee, raisin and hay. Creamy medium body with a tingle. Taste is stale chocolate, caramel, coffee and fig. I’m guessing the coffee has faded quite a bit since fresh. The result though is beautifully melded and has held up better than many impy stouts I’ve cellared. Aroma - coffee, alcohol, roast, and dark chocolate
Appearance - pitch black body with a dark brown head that slowly fades to a foam
Taste - roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, and a carmalized sugar.
Palate - full body, texture is slick, average carbonation, long astringent roast

dark tan head atop a perfectly black brew... Nice lacing and retention..
Good coffee as expected meshes with some dark cocoa and just enough malty residuals to deliver the nose and make it interesting.
Flavors are all there, but sorta fall short.. nothing really crosses any benchmark.. light cocoa and decent coffee bean flavors.. there could possibly be a bit more of everything and especially some maltiness that really delivers the malts and the beans.
Body is light given the ABV... needs more UUMMMPPPH!
Despite my above negatives, this is a pretty damn good brew.. Big Boned Coffee Porter for less than $8? Needs work, but I will buy again. JaBier (8027) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - OCT 7, 2015
Bottle shared by a friend. Darkest brown pour with a thick tan head. Aroma of coffee, malt and some chocolate. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some caramel before a slight coffee finish. Beerandhockey8 (404) - Three Forks, Montana, USA - OCT 2, 2015
From 22oz bottle to snifter. Pour us a oil like black with a thick and frothy beige head. Nose is huge roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, alcohol. Taste is sour with sweetness at times, heavy bodied with a very thick mouth feel. Very smooth finish, liked this one.

Settling in to fall with this delicious Imperial Coffee Porter. The aroma has a subtle note of chocolate and a strong note of coffee. The reverse is true for the taste. It is strong on the chocolate and light on the coffee taste. It’s a heavier beer that goes down smooth even though it is 9.2% alcohol by volume. It is a classy beer and my scale is based on Matthew Mcconaughey scale. I give it 7 "All right, all right, all rights!" out of 10. bartzluke (598) - Oklahoma, USA - AUG 9, 2015
12 oz pour from chilled bomber into tulip glass. Black as night, totally opaque, slight evident carbonation, slight brown head. Nose is coffee, a bit sour, a bit sweet, and malty. Body is full and sharp. Taste is sour coffee, reminiscent of cold brew. Roasty with some burnt notes as well. A hint of dark chocolate back there too. Not a bad coffee porter. Rated based on notes taken 28 Sep 2012 -- Had high expectations for this brew, it was good. Not great. Drank well. GothGargoyle (2587) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 2, 2015
Bottle of the 2012. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is green coffee, chocolate, caramel. Medium bodied, roasty on the palate. Taste is coffee, chocolate, caramel. Decent. bottomfisher (16) - Beaverton, Oregon, USA - MAY 20, 2015
The aroma is definitely more enticing than the taste. Kind of a bitter aftertaste on the palate. Got the beer at Grocery Outlet and it said it was brewed in October 2013. Nice buzz with a 9.2 Alc.
