Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, alcohol, roasted malt, and some chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, alcohol, and a bit of soy sauce, leading to a dry alcoholic finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Pours a deep dark brown with a beige head. Somewhat greasy, chili-like coffee aroma with a sweet roast. Medium body, somewhat rotten roast, heavy coffee accents with a slight tartness. An odd brew. 270812

Tap at Mahaffeys, Baltimore - 22/05/12. Black body, brown tinges when held to light with a medium beige head. Coffee at the front of the nose, a little roasted malts and a bitter chocolate waft. Roasted malts well balanced with coffee beans, bitter chocolate and treacle toffee. Medium to full bodied, moderate to medium carbonation, alcohol is well hidden, good balance to this beer.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a black body under a dense, light tan head of moderate size. The aroma has loads of coffee, some vanilla hints, roasted malts and a pleasant touch of dark chocolate. Pretty nice, but not fantastic, and that goes for the flavor too. It feels both dry and sweet at the same time, which is a bit disturbing. All the good found on the nose is present, so is a little hoppy bitterness. Its full bodied and lightly warming, very soft on the palate, almost velvety. Lasting finish, lacking a bit on the coffee. Sure a nice one, but a bit easy on the coffee I think. 140511

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours ruddy dark brown with a creamy/foamy tan head. 3 fingers! Theres definitely coffee and chocolate in the aroma, but it hits my nose a bit like chili. Med body or better. Lots of chocolate and coffee in the flavor, but theres a persistent hint of capsaicin. A sort of tangy/spicy aspect. Overall theres a great deal of flavor. Not a hint of heat. Oh so much better than oh so many. Drinks very, very nice.

Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a small lasting tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate, roastiness, vanilla and light coffee. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of coffee, bakers cocoa, roastiness and a hint of vanilla with a smooth dry lingering coffee finish.
