Formerly Tail Wagger Black IPA
A Big Bold Hoppy IPA that finishes with a dark twist.
True to its IPA roots Dogzilla has a massive hop presence that is Piney and Citrusy. A malty backbone, along with the dark malt gives it a bit of a roasty finish. Brewed with Simcoe and Cascade Hops, Pale Malt, Munich, and Black Barley.

Pours dark brown with large off white head out if bottle. Chocolate aroma with chocolate taste. Hint of hops. Good beer overall. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This was the best black ipa I’ve had to date very smooth and very malty. Subtle roast character

A - Pours a very dark hazy brown. A thick frothy 2 finger light-tan head that refuses to sink. The color is weak but it gets points for the solid head. S - Pine resin, citrus, roasted barley, old leftover coffee grinds, also a strange arm-pit body odor that I’m not loving. T - A mix tape of heavy evergreen and citrus. The bitterness is great at first but turns to a chalky aspirin flavor toward the end. A roasted smokey flavor from the black malt. Has a dry mineral aftertaste. M - Creamy and medium to full bodied. Moderate carbonation. This is a love hate kinda beer. There are great things and not so great thing about it. The good: Big on hops. The bad: Chalky sour aspirin, body odor smell. I don’t know if this is infected or what. It’s good but has flaws. I did a blind taste test with another "un-named" Black IPA and this one lost. Serving type: bottle 12-04-2010

Very dark ruby-brown with a foamy tan head. Roasty malt with an earthiness and a bit of a hoppy finish. Rather full, toasty, dark.

Not the best black ipa. The pour on this was not great, it left a look of undesirable beer to drink. The taste was basic, not what I expect from a classic black ipa

Black pour with ruby edges. Really thick khaki head. Tons of lacing. Aroma is fairly balanced. Mild roastiness and malt sweetness with some citrus, floral, and earthy hops. Taste is very similar. I pick up a little chocolate roastiness. A hint if coffee. Hops are similar to aroma. Mostly citrus, some floral and earthy notes. ---Rated via iPhone

Black pour from bomber from blackwells. Frothy and very foamy head. Carbonation and licorice aroma. Chocolate and stale type taste. It isn’t bad but having a hard time getting into it

Decent CDA. Lots of chocolate and pine. Milder notes of citrus, grass, whiskey and wood, adding lots of complexity. Solid hop bitterness, but not overdone. Pretty tasty.

Dark IPA from the tap. Nice flavor. Nice head. Lacing isn't overly present. Not a session beer. Great flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
