Formerly Tail Wagger Black IPA
A Big Bold Hoppy IPA that finishes with a dark twist.
True to its IPA roots Dogzilla has a massive hop presence that is Piney and Citrusy. A malty backbone, along with the dark malt gives it a bit of a roasty finish. Brewed with Simcoe and Cascade Hops, Pale Malt, Munich, and Black Barley.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown nearly black with garnet highlights and a lasting creamy tan head with good lacing. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, mandarin orange, light pine, light roastiness and a faint hint of smoke. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth with a slightly dry finish. Flavors of orange, tangerine, pink grapefruit, light pine and a hint of roastiness with a smooth lightly dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate hop and toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met.

Drake (13726) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 17, 2009
22 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. This one is all head... about a 5:2 ration of head to beer. Dark brown colored pour. The head is tan, obviously very large, foamy, with good head retention and lacing. Aroma is faded herbal, leafy hops with some caramel notes. There’s something in there that is earthy and reminiscent of crayons. Taste is caramel, toffee, light roast, anise, citrus and earthy hops. Medium bodied. A little bit on the odd side but overall a pleasant beer.

Bottle received via trade with ditmier. Pours clear dark brown with an average, creamy, off-white head, mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, toasted grain), heavy hops (flowers, perfume, pine), average yeast (sweat, earth) with notes of alcohol, grape, apple, and pear. Medium bodied, sticky and mineral texture, lively carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.

Bottle shared by a traveling HSC member. The beer pours a dark amber-brown color with a medium foamy light beige head that burns away steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and toasted malt. Medium body (although a touch thin at times) with flavors of hops, roasted malt, caramel and a bit of citrus. The finish is toasty with a short hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
