COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our India Pale Ale takes it name from the exotic oils that might have been available to a Sultan of early trade routes. Made from a combination of American 2-Row barley, Crystal and Munich malts, this IPA is well balanced with grapefruit and passion fruit citrus flavors and aromas. American Ale yeast provides a clean background for the hops to stand out in this ale.

Braudog (6836) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - OCT 14, 2016
Draft at the brewpub. Very inviting appearance and aroma, rife with a fruit salad of hop characteristics, ranging from grape to grapefruit. Excellent. (#6354, 10/8/2016)

3.7
Jow (4086) - Orlando, Florida, USA - AUG 7, 2016
Draft at the pizza place next store to Laughing Sun even though I’d head to brewery in a few minutes I couldn’t wait. Orange Amber pour. Nose is big resinous hops. Tastes of grapefruit pith, piney, earthy, resin and malty. Quite heavily bitter and malty. Good

3.7
Travlr (26091) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAY 2, 2015
Draft at the first ever North Dakota Brewers Festival. Clear deep golden color, off white head. Bright fruity pine aroma. Taste is resiny bitter pine. Decent.

Ferris (16513) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 25, 2014
Draft - Lots of grapefruit and peel. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Big bright bitterness, tons of grapefruit and a long finish. Really nice.

3.9
Prufrockstar (2259) - Moscow, Idaho, USA - AUG 18, 2014
Draft at laughing sun. Pours clear orange amber with foamy white head, great lacing. Aroma is really nice and fresh: grapefruit and citrus at the forefront, with some pine backing it up and just a smidge of caramel way in the back. Taste is pretty much what I want from an ipa: dry, hop-focused, great flavor with assertive bitter finish that is never unpleasant. Medium+ body. Overall: really solid, nice ipa. Glad I made it a priority to stop here. Also, ND tick!

3.6
dresden (1581) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - DEC 30, 2013
Draft at taproom. Clear darker golden. Aroma of grapefruit and some pine. Taste is heavily bitter followed by a bit of a fruity wave of hops, but a bit heavy on the malt for my liking. A quality beer no doubt and one that I’m glad was my first tasted nodak beer!

3.5
kathouse (1940) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - NOV 4, 2013
At GABF. Pours a light amber with citrus hop aroma. Decent malt backbone but a little lighter on the body. Orange and fruit flavors linger into the finish.

BVery (11361) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - OCT 18, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Tap at the brewpub. Holy crap this is amazing. Clear orange pour. White head. Citrus and grapefruit, crisp and clean. Reminds me of Fat Heads Headhunter, and yes, for me it is about that good. Re-rate: had it again around Christmas-time 2013, didn’t hit me as dramatically as the first time. Taking it down one tick. Still a great beer.

nimbleprop (8750) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 17, 2013
Sampled at GABF. Pours a hazy gold with some foamy, white head. Standard nose, malt, citrus, orange, herbs. Flavor is sweet, honey comb, malt, orange, lemon. Malty finish. A little weak.

3.3
brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - OCT 15, 2013
On tap @ GABF. Hazy gold pour with a white head. Fruity hop aroma of orange and grapefruit. Some sweet caramel malt, flowers, and grass. Flavor is a touch on the sweet side. Some caramel and sweet citrus. A touch of bitter orange peel and grass. Floral and grapefruit hop notes as well.
