Green Elephant is green because it’s made from organic malts, and elephant because of the Amarillo, Ahtanum and organic Cascade hops. It’s medium-bodied with a subtle malt underpining and an explosive hop flavor and bitterness. Dang, the elephant is hoppy.

Bottle from Darby’s Liquor, Vancouver
No dating in the bottle. Red Amber color, hazy, with compact head. Mild aroma of citrusy hops, oranges, light talc. Lean mouthfeel, light residual sweetness; but the malt flavor lacks of depth, it has just some caramel, and the hops are not bright; resiny final.
Maybe an old bottle, but since it’s not dated, I blame the brewery.
Boring. I won’t buy again.

mcberko (18434) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 3, 2010
Sampled on tap at SIB, pours hazy golden orange. Aroma of hops and caramel malt. Flavour is more malty than the average IPA, with an obvious hop dominance. Not bad.

brokensail (16609) - Dublin, California, USA - AUG 23, 2014
On tap @ Laurelwood PDX. Golden colored beer with white foam. Nice pine and citrus peel aromas. A touch of apricot and resin, too. Sweet caramel malts are quite pronounced. Hints of grass, too. Flavor is rather astringent and bitter. A ton of pine and resin...some mild papery notes. Orange peel, apricot, and sweet caramel malts. Meh.

bhensonb (15505) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 17, 2008
Bomber at 6.9%. Copper amber color with a thin beige head. Aromas seem floral, citrus and resin. Medium body with prickly carbonation. Flavor is roasted malt with a lot of hop. Finish is almost balanced but hops rule. Really good drink.

jercraigs (10651) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 12, 2010
2010-07-04. Crisp golden dark amber body, modest beige head and light lace. 3+ Huge leafy, weedy green hop aroma, vegetation dominates. 6+ Flavour is similarly green and leafy, mild citrus is lightly astringent, lemon seed like in the finish. 6+ Smooth average palate. Decent, heavy on the leafy character, which I don’t love. On tap at Seattle International Beer Festival

DuffMan (10548) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 14, 2010
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Pours a nice hazy orange with a creamsicle cap, good lace. Very fruit-hoppy nose and palate, lots of fresh citrus and tropical fruit, juicy and fresh. Perfect malt balance. A perfect NW-style IPA. Awesome!

marcus (10483) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 18, 2015
Bottle from Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours golden with a thick off-white head and a citrus aroma. There is a hearty pale malt flavor with a bitter citrus finish. Tasty.
