3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber. Pours a light burgundy and amber color with substantial beige foam. Aroma is hops resin, citrus, toffee and toasted malts. The taste starts out strong on the herbal hops, pine and orange rind flavors along with some caramel, bready malts and grapefruit toward the back end. Mouthfeel is mildly creamy with medium carbonation and a malty, citrus peel finish. Overall, nice balance between the citrusy hops notes and caramel malt flavors.
dark honey amber pour. Aroma caramel orange tobacco. tastes round orange rind bitter. enjoyable intense yet balanced classic red. booze is well-hidden behind wall of flavor Brentv (686) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 30, 2016
On tap at McNally Taproom in Hillsboro, OR. Red pour with a small head. Lovely flavor that gets better through the glass. Just sweet enough. Strykzone (7800) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. A big beige head atop this light brown beer. Some brightness to it. Cool lacing after the head falls. Floral and fruit aroma and flavor. Malts are pretty much right for the style. This is an American version and that is obvious. A smooth richer feel. The IBU number is total fiction. Not even close to that high. I do begin to taste some grapefruit and tropical fruit. Mid glass it becomes an IPA and the malts move well to the back. Bread is noticed late and just a little toast. I am not sure what style this is but it is a tasty beer. hayduke (5731) - Eureka, California, USA - JUL 22, 2015
Bomber shared with Strykzone (Dave) on Facebook Chat. . Pours a reddish amber with a beige head. Wonderful thick lacing rings. Nose is fruit and floral hops. Medium plus body and a very smooth mouth feel. Flavor is a lot of tropical fruit flavors on a caremal malt backbone. Also there is some orange, and grapefruit. Very sticky resinous mildly bitter finish. Alcohol well hidden. Very tasty and enjoyable beer. Dave said they claim 100 IBUs. I do not get that. jennajlover (135) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 13, 2015
Not too many imperial reds out there. This one is a must. Super rich caramel and crystal malts in aroma and flavor. Some heat but NO cloying sweetness. It is all about the malts. There are some bitter hops I there to help balance out finish.

Ruddy orange pour, small tan head. Aroma is heavy on sweet malt, with fruity hop notes. Flavor of caramel, toffee, resin, pine, brown sugar, orange, grapefruit, with notes of grass. Damn. riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 9, 2015
Nose of caramel light chocolate and some floral piney hops. Pours amber red thin foam sheets a little head. Flavors of caramel and chocolate, sweet piney and fruity hops. Caramel finish a little heat and some hop dry resins. A little too sweet for my liking. tcon25 (978) - Duvall, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2015
Bottle pour at home. Floral and hop aroma, pretty much the same in the taste. Very solid imp red. Reid (2675) - Salem, Oregon, USA - JAN 2, 2015

Appearance: slightly opaque, deep reddish orange with a big, frothy/bubbly tan head that hung around quite a while, throwing off all kinds of fizzy aroma bombs. Aroma: big hops up front, with lots of citrus (esp grapefruit and blood orange), some catty/dank notes, and even some pine; under that is some candied fruit and brown bread, almost like a fruitcake. Taste: all the hops from the aroma come out, with the addition of some floral characteristics as well; there’s a firm malt backbone of caramel (werther’s originals) and brown sugar and toast. Finish: pretty dry, with a lingering piney/citrus bitterness that wins out, just barely, over the malt. Notes: Felt more like an IPA than an ASA; call it a Red IPA (someone call the BJCP!). Pretty decent, and the good malt backbone helped the whole thing hold up well. Good with a plate of tacquitos. Bottle from Sarah for Beersmas 2014.
