Bottle courtesy bu11zeye. Pours a dark brown color with a reddish color when held to the light. Beige ring of head. Aroma is a nice mix of chocolate, coffee beans, roasted malts. Nice aroma. 22oz from Northwest Liquid Gold. Initially a fairly deep dark brown pour, with a modest head. But once the brew settles in it looks a bit like an adjunct stout crossed with rust water. Nose of mild carob and day-old coffee. Body is a bit too thin, not surprisingly given the other impressions. And the taste is dominated by grainy, dry, faded coffee. Alas, it appears this brew isn’t the freshest. Too many other good coffee stouts out there to seek this one out again. Black color/ light tan sheen. Chocolate malt, medium roast coffee, earthy kelp aromas. medium bodied. Tasty, rich deep roast malt, sugared up black coffee, mocha chocolate flavors.

Taste - a solid java/coffee stout
Palate - a little light/watery for my preference

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2011 Sample at the 3rd Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/22/2011: Pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing. Roasted coffee aroma with some burnt malt behind it. Medium body with flavors of black coffee, malt and a touch of hops. The finish is roasty coffee with a lasting bitterness. Good all around. Black pour, short beige head that falls to a film, leaves a bit of lace as you drink. Lots of espresso on the nose and some distinct ash and char. Bomber. Poured deep brown with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter roasted coffee and vanilla beans, with low-moderate roast.. accents of coconut and cocoa.. warmth brought out sweet rolled oats. The flavor found a heavier, roastier impression from the coffee, along with mild related sourness toward the back.. vanilla and coconut surrounded, along with coffee bitterness.. nice cold coffee finish. Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours very brown/black with a decent tan head. Aromas of coffee and chocolate. Medium minus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is dark chocolate, espresso and some fairly burnt malt. Leaves a chocolate sensation on the top of the tongue. Finishes pretty dry.
