Rich Coffee and chocolate flavors dominate this opaque working class Ale. Stout’s extreme popularity among the British factory workers of the 1800’s may qualify it as the fuel for the Industrial Revolution. "By the time you get it, you’re too far out."

Draft at the brewpub. Black in color with a retained tan head. Aroma is loads of coffee, roasty ashy notes, some bitter cocoa. Flavor is nice, coffee really prominent, dry and fairly bitter, just a touch of sweetness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Solid offering.

Coffee and chocolate in nose and flavor. Nitro like carbonation and very dry stout type of finish. Makes a great breakfast stout.

On tap. A: Opaque black with a thin cappuccino head. Lacing. N: Huge bittersweet cocoa and coffee. Some vanilla and substantial smoke. T: Bittersweet. M: Medium body with a creamy carbonation. Alcohol is well-hidden. O: Solid stout. Big cocoa makes me happy.

Had on tap at the SE Brewpub. Aroma is roasty and malty with hints of coffee. Flavor is a great match of roasty and burnt flavors and has a ever so slight sweetness to it. Overall this is a great beer, very balanced and easy drinking.

mcberko (19805) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 13, 2013
On tap at Laurelwood PDX, pours black with a large tan head. Aroma birds out dry coffee and roasted malt. Flavour is similar, with very dry coffee and roast. Fairly bland, but creamy palate. Decent stout.
