tap. sampler from Laurelwood Public House. I was well into a day of drinking while exploring portland and all I have written down for this one is: tingly mettallic and thin... but I gave it a 7 (or 3.5 by ratebeer scale). so I won’t screw up the average by putting this in, but would need to try again for a proper rate. portland is a dangerous place for a beer junkie. stchloe (1104) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 26, 2008
A great stout, huge body and mouth. Creamy strong head, dark as night with chocolate malts and barley aroma. Smells and taste like grain. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - JUL 22, 2008
Near black with a tan head. Nice coffee roasted malt aromas. Medium body. Rich, hearty sweet flavors of mocha coffee with black roasted malt bitterness to balance. No off flavors, a very good draft stout. Tap @ Laurelwood PDX airport. Ungstrup (38242) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 21, 2008
Draft. A black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt and chocolate as well as hints of acidity from the roasted malt, leading to a dry bitter and roasted finish. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - JUN 22, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. Pours translucent blackish brown with a tan head. Aroma and taste of brown sugar and coffee. Dry coffee finish with a touch of pine. Decent, but kind of a letdown after the Tree Hugger Porter.

Draft at Laurelwood PDX: Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Thick lacing. Nose is hefty with roastiness, coffee, and chocolate. Thick and creamy. Flavor is not overwhelming, but balanced and soothing. More choco, coffee, and roast. A basic stout in most areas, but done on a very nice level. Too bad I didn’t stumble on this spot until 20 minutes before departure... ABUSEDGOAT (2822) - California, USA - JAN 14, 2008
Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is interesting for the style. I got notes of licorice with the usual chocolate and coffee associated with the style. My favorite of the flight. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 21, 2007
On tap at Laurelwood off NW 23rd in Portland--Poured a deep black-brown body with a nice creamy grey-brown head. Nose of nutty, malts, chocolate and coffee. Left a nice curtain of lacing in the glass. FInished mildly bitter and creamy. Very tasty! bhensonb (15612) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Aroma of toasted malt and coffee. Near opaque brown/black color with a tan head leaving lacey rings. Near full in body. Moderate in carbonation. Fair amount of coffee flavor dominating toasted/burnt malt. Finish is burnt malt bitter. Never distinguished hop. Very nice stout. Half way to Imperial?
