This strong ale is as rich and complex as it is drinkable. A blend of six malts and four hops creates an ale with deep carmel character, spicy hop flavor and a dry roasty finish. It’s spelled differently because it’s Vonderful.

Bomber, thanks ctomson! Roasted malt aroma with subtler notes of nuts and a bit of caramel. Pours dark brown with a thin light brown head and some lacing. Starts with a lot of roasted malt with a touch of nuttiness. Finishes a bit dry but smooth with the nuttiness coming forward with a bit of caramel sweetness followed by a very slight bitter bite. Nice, medium bodies winter warmer.

Bottle. Pours a clear darker reddish brown color with a moderate light brown head on there. Nose is nice and toasty, with some bread coming through with some subtle nuts. Taste has some good toasting, and is very crisp with a good bite. I like it.

Pour is a dark red with a small tan head. Aroma is slight chocolate malt with some toffee and tobacco. Flavor is dry and roast malts with again an ever so slight chocolate. Follow up flavors are caramel and toffee with almost a spicy rye earthiness. This was decent and on the low end of ABV for a winter warmer which made for a good weekday drink.

On draught at St. John winter fest - pours clear dark amber with thick head. Nose of malt, booze, and coffee. Taste of smoky booze, malt, and rum. Nice and warming. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Muddy amber color. Sips med bodied and very well ballanced. Slight hop bitter balance in the middle to make this a very smooth a seemingly session able brew, but the abv is 6+....so careful :). Winter warmer, why not. Sessi in able amber, yes.

2013 22oz Bottle - Pours crimson red with a tan head. Aroma and flavors are subtly complex in a way that you can tell their there but don’t come through in the fashion that you’d expect from a winter seasonal. Hops and Malts are the showcase but once again SUBTLE. I purchase one bottle every year and it does changes a little year to year. Not Bad, but not delicious.

Bomber thanks to MikeJ. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. A sweet nose of roast and chocolates. The flavor really comes in like a nice Porter with roast, coffee, deep sweet malts, dry, light earth. Very enjoyable, I’d like to try this again. Something between a BW and Porter.
