Bottle, Some spice for aroma along with some sweet malt. Dark body with tan head. Marlted caramel wit some candy sweetness. Smooth on the palate, decent brew. JB175 (1665) - Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2008
Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Aroma is spicy and sweet with a dessert-like appeal. Flavor is nice and floral hoppy/sweet/spicy but a tad boring. OK, but I’m seriously burned out on holiday/winter warmer beers with heavy spices. hopdog (13315) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 19, 2008
22oz bottle. Poured a medium to deeper and hazy brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, roasted nuts, light chocolate and light spices. Tastes of caramel, chocolate, roast, nutty, earthy, light spices, and light coffee.

One of many similar winter ales, much like a brown ale with a touch of spice.

Bottle. Pours a rich robust brown much like a porter. Notes of spice, chocolate and caramel on the nose. Flavor is rich and wonderfully balance. Flavor highlights of berry, toffee, chocolate and grapefruit. Nice head retention. Medium body with a real pleasant finish that has me begging for more. A real winter treat! bhensonb (16120) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 18, 2007
Draft at the brewpub. Belgian spice type of aroma over roasted malt. Dark brown color with a lacing off-white head. Medium body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is mixed spice and darkly roasted malt (but not burnt). Finish is dry. JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 6, 2007
Inviting aroma of christmas trees waft above this cola/crimson elixir with off white head. Rich and meaty, this bad boy gives you full throttle cherries, caramel, cocoa and IPA level hops. WOW! This is outstanding, and certainly my kind of beer. Rich and creamy mouthfeel with a new taste sensation in every swirl and swallow. Tremendous!
