The aroma is sweet, malty and slightly roasted. The color is a clear dark brown and it has a beutiful but disappearing head. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, wort, and a little licorice. The mouthfeel is creamy. jonas (7985) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - OCT 4, 2003
Roasted coffeeish nose with some bittering hops.
Dark chestnut, brown creamy head with lace.
Taste has a nice roastiness to it, not overly strong though - balance is good.
Medium body - quick finish and some dustyness when exhaling.
The particular bottle I had was a swing-top version with a different label ("privat")and claimed to be a Naturtrübes Kellerbier - I never saw any yeast though and cannot confirm that. According to the homepage og the brewery they have done the same stunt for several of the beers in their normal product line, this will probably cause some confusion.
