We have collected and grown old traditional hop varieties and selected the best combination of these for their aroma, and balanced them with additional organically grown hops, in this, our first beer. Although we farm under both biodynamic and organic standards, we go much further in our quest to produce the very best hops and barley. Our micro-biology lab continuously tests the soils, adding compost and compost teas so that the biology in the soil has the right proportions of beneficial bacteria and fungi for the hops and barley to be at their best and most flavoursome. This creates the deep flavours of the beer.

Bottle. Pale gold colour, little head. Aroma is a little metalic and grainy. The taste is quite biscuity and soft rather than crisp. An unusual tasting beer, not bad, not refreshing either.

11.2oz bottle 3/13/15 (Courtesy of TerryR)-40° in Lager Glass-Pours a light golden with a small white head. Aroma of grains, cereal, and light malt. Taste of the same with a bit of sweetness. This light bodied brew would be a great lawnmower kinda brew.

Beese (3266) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2014
33cl Bottle. Poured a hazy pale golden, with a fair amount of dense white head. Aroma of light grass, cereal and lager malt. Bready malt flavour, with some bitter hop and a little fruitiness. Finish was slightly metallic, with some dough and brown sugar, but pretty light. Fairly inoffensive.

stravale (3145) - Co. Westmeath, IRELAND - AUG 2, 2014
Bottle from BeersIveKnown. Cheers Steve! [260814]

Light pale yellow, slight haze, frothy white head, slight lacing

Aroma of light grain, light sweet pale malt, very light nose

Taste of sweet light sweet pale malts, dab of bitter slightly spicy hops, touch of buttery honey

Palate - soft carb, light to medium body, little oily, light sweet. Finish of some bitter grain

Overall - Ordinary lager. Only a bit better than a standard macro

rauchbier (3941) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2013
Bottle, from Waitrose. Gold, thin white head and moderate condition. Grainy malt in the nose with some sweet fruity malt and gentle flowery hoppiness, full and sweet malt and a chalky hoppiness in the mouth, good lingering hop bitterness and a gentle malty sweetness in the finish (from old notes)

Bright clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is slightly crisp. Thin creamy malt, touch of paper. Mild minerals. Very mild citrus hop. Finishes dry and a little papery. Not too bad.

Look: organic is fine and good, but it’s only a part of the story. If you want to be true to environmental and health values, but it seems to me that you might as well go local. And, that’s particularly the case when you’re dealing with an English import (certainly no cost savings) and a mildly skunky lager that’s somewhat enjoyable as far as lagers go but offers absolutely nothing on dozens of lagers that I can get from good microbrewers (some of them doing the organic thing) within a radius of a couple hundred miles from where I live. So, I humbly suggest that, however cute the label and authentic the product, they stick to a local market, or at least as far as they go and cannot find similar competitive products. That’s my $.02. Bottle.

Dla mnie to piwo organiczne niczym sie nie wyrozna, zwlaszcza na tle innych organicznych piw. Powinno byc swieze, wyczuwalny aromat ekologicznego slodu. A tu slodowe piwo mamy typu premium lager. Piana za to nawet trwala.

BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUN 13, 2013
Golden in color, clear with a thin head. Light malts and hops flavor this was just to washed down for my liking.

kwik-lime (2068) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2013
Clean tasting, malt and grain, not so much hop. Decent if slightly boring beer, unlike the label on the bottle.
