Bottle. Dark dark pour with almost no head. Coffee, chocolate, vanilla. Smooth and easy to drink. Sweet with slight acidic and bitter finish.
I had the 2015 version on tap at the taproom. This is a dark beer with a creamy beige head. Warming bourbon nose with some roasted grain notes. This drinks much lighter than the claimed 9.1%. Nice bourbon, oak, vanilla and dark ripe fruit flavors with a hint of charred wood. Simple for a barrel aged beer but very effective. FlandersNed (395) - , Indiana, USA - NOV 5, 2015
25.4 oz bottle. Opaque dark brown tone with way too much foam. Sugary bourbon & porter nose. Taste was not as sweet: Baker’s chocolate, oak ashes, leafy/grassy/fried floral notes and a mix of char/roast/dark malts. Full body and medium carbonation. jake65 (3696) - Meridian, Idaho, USA - FEB 13, 2015
Bottle, thanks to Syndicate. Dark brown, nearly black pour. Topped with a monster beige head. Nose is heavy roast and a light espresso. Barrel influence is nice in the taste, light bourbon and oak, roast and espresso. Lingering barrel finish. BuckeyeBoy (7684) - Boise, Idaho, USA - FEB 13, 2015
750ml bottle thanks to Darrel. Pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is heavy roast malts barrel and ash. Taste is roast dark chocolate bitterness and a nice end. bigda83 (854) - Jamestown, New York, USA - JAN 14, 2015
Pours a dark and murky brown with a thick foamy khaki head on it. Aroma of sweet chocolate and some burnt wood notes. Taste was chocolate, woody, and hints of bourbon. The bourbon aging wasn’t very strong, or over-powering, but this beer was still really good. Quite filling and warming, but alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle. Pours almost black with tan head. Aroma is mild bourbon, chocolate, roasted coffee. Body is light, smooth, mild. Not much going in actually. It has wax, so it’s got that going for it. Ratman197 (14852) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - OCT 24, 2013
750 ml bottle shared by Doodler (thanks Scott) poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, light oak and light peanutbutter. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, vanilla, coffee and light oak with a smooth lingering chocolate finish.
