Draft at Brewery 7/7. Golden in color, interesting aroma of spices, pepper, and Smith’s brand hot dogs. Taste is mild sweet and spices. Pretty good overall. bigda83 (879) - Jamestown, New York, USA - DEC 31, 2014
Pours a clear golden color with a medium foamy white head. Aroma was bready, fruity, and sweet with spices. Taste was on the sweet side for me, cinnamon, fruits, yeast, and dough and sugar. Alcohol well hidden, just not my favorite style and prefer less sweetness in my beers. alobar (3914) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 29, 2014
Pours a golden yellow color with hints of orange. Aroma of bread, fruit, and yeast. Flavor of bread, yeast, and fruit sweetness. Alcohol well hidden. Nice beer.

Bottle. Not a flip-top though, as the description indicates. Probably a much newer bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow. Not really sure how I’d classify this. Hoppy Belgian, maybe. Pretty good, nothing wild. Hoppy, a little bit of fruityness. Certainly doesn’t taste like 11.5% ABV. Darkmagus82 (2303) - - JUL 28, 2014

Served on tap in a snifter
Appearance – Served a super hazy yellow color with a tiny white head. The head faded relatively fast to leave a good level of lacing on the glass. When swirled in the snifter the beer clung to the sides of the glass; streaking slowly down the sides.
Smell – The aroma are most of yeast and fruit. The fruit is a combination of banana and some orange citrus. Mixed with these aromas are some grassy and more herbal hop aromas as well as a presence of alcohol (although lighter then would be expected).
Taste – The taste begins with a good hit of yeast and biscuit flavors. As the taste advances a bitter citrus flavor mixed with a bitter grassy flavor comes to the tongue. While it bitters in taste, it also gets slightly tart in nature. Toward the end some spice flavors as well as a hit of a boozy flavor come to the tongue. The flavor transitions in the brew are rather abrupt, with none of them really transitioning very well. In the end, a light burning alcohol taste, mixed with a grassy hop flavor (almost like you would get if eating hops straight up), are left on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The beer has a body that is rather chewy and thick with a carbonation level that is on the lower side. The lower carbonation level lets all the flavors of the brew soak into the tongue. In this case a little bit of effervescence would have helped hide some of the alcohol and strangely bitter flavors.
Overall – Not really a style and taste profile that I am a fan of. The flavors are rather poor in their complementation and transition, and the feel and smell are not all that great either.

Poured from the bottle into an imperial pint. The bottle doesn’t have a date but it had some dust on it when I bought it so it’s probably been around a bit. Poured a hazy deep gold with minimal head. Strong aroma of fruit with a hint of butter, but not in a bad way. That same non-offensive hint of butter follows through to the flavor, along with some booziness and pleasant fruitiness. There is a minor bitter bite that balances the beer well. Even though it has some booziness present, it doesn’t really feel like an 11.5% beer. It’s definitely a sipper, but I dig it. 750 ml bottle shared by Dan P. Color shows a cloudy yellow with lasting head retention. Aroma is fruity and yeasty. Peaches, mangos and bread.swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAY 11, 2014
Flavor has a wheat and honey upfront with a chewy yeasty texture through the center. Hints of rye and sugar. I like the flavors here but it displays a hug slap of booze in the finish. I’m not kidding, alcohol burn down the gullet after the sip. If I had a bottle I would sit on it awhile and see if it can mellow. I liked the flavor if I could have gotten around the burn. Damn that’s hot!
big bottle, a lot going on here, amber pour, fruit forward yeastiness, orange fruitiness, sweet, decent bitterness, strange but effective
