APPEARANCE: Poured pale yellow in color with really good clarity. Head is white and has a cloud-like fluffiness going on. It initially stood around two fingers tall, but has settled to just under a finger after about 8 minutes or so. You can see plenty of carbonation bubbles streaming upward in the glass. AROMA: There’s a tart lemony fragrance right away. I’m also getting wild flowers, jasmine, & honey. Very nice.
TASTE: Nice sourness up front. It’s mild for a Brett-beer, but it’s enough to let you know that it’s there. After that, I’m starting to get the various grains and malts that are used in this beer. Maybe just a touch of hop bitterness towards the middle, but it’s very mild allowing the other elegant flavors to pull through. The sour flavor creates a drying quality on the back end. Finishes tart and refreshing.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium-thin body with moderate to high carbonation.
OVERALL: A top notch Saison with just enough Brett to go with the lightness of this beer.
Morey’s Bottom Line: This beer is a must in the summer time for me. One of my favorites within the style. I could drink this til the cows come home.
Appearance: creamy, deeply hazy butterscotch, with a thick, dense, almost nitro-like off white head, with tons of effervescent carbonation and some frothy lace. Aroma: funky, with notes of lemon zest, brown rice, yeasty spices, some pepper and some cloves. Taste: some oatmeal bread with honey butter, lots of yeasty spice, orange, coriander, clove, pepper, and a healthy does of brett funk . Finish: tingly, slightly sweet and spicy, with lingering zesty fruit. Notes: I love a good funky saison, and the brett didn’t take this one too far over the edge; the funky notes were relatively intense, but restrained and balanced. Nice full palate, balanced perfectly by the spice and the carbonation. A really, really good saison. Draft at Birch & Barley.

22oz bomber split 3 ways. For the life of me I cannot remember where or when I got this bottle but I have been saving it for a little bit of time now, maybe close to a year. I wonder if that accounts for the difference between my score and the average. The beer pours with a slightly hazy golden color and a medium sized head. Aroma is dry and herbal with bitter floral aspects - to me this is all brett. Its very well done, lively and bright, loving it. Flavor is similar, a little more heft to it and a smidgen less brightness but very nice indeed. I think this is exceptionally executed and a 4.4 beer to boot. Bottle shared at natifest. Pours a hazy gold with a white head of foam. The aroma has lemon zest, citrus, bread and dough. Tastes like lemon zest and bread. Very nice saison.

Pour was a cloudy medium gold with a medium off white head. Taste was very funky and refreshing. Carbonation was the first thing that I noticed, then the Tastes of yeast, Brett, fruit, light lemon, and grain. Really easy to drink. A little thin bodied, but It’s worth it. Pours golden, almost opaque banana yellow with a small off white head. The aroma brings a bit of pleasant funk right away and then evolves to sweet yeast notes. The flavor brings nice sweet and light funk notes with a saison yeast flavored base, pure. There is not much spice at all, just a bit of spicy malt like notes at the end. On tap at Bainbridge Street Barrel house, pours a slighty clear, well carbonated golden color with thick soapy head that was lasting. Aromas of brett, lemons, wood, and belgian spices. Taste of wild yeast, and fruits, berries, wood, lemons, and light tartness. Real nice creaminess in the flavor from the barrel. I could drink pints of this and I usually don’t say that about saisons.
