Named after the Irish legend of the Jack O Lantern. Brewed with Pumpkins and Spices. Subtle spicing to make sure you can enjoy more than 1 pint per session. A drier version of your standard Pumpkin ale, ours is not cloyingly sweet. A nice toasty/biscuity flavor from the American pale ale malt, slight hop bitterness from Northern Brewer and our house yeast blend that leaves slightly fruity esters. Formerly known as Lavery Stingy Jack Pumpkin Ale.

Sample at Kurtkeller 017: Pumpkin-tastic 02 on 10/13/2014. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Medium-bodied with flavors of pumpkin spices and bready malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of nutmeg, cinnamon and biscuit malt. The finish is sweet with a spice and malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber from Wegman’s Collegeville. Pours turbid dark ruddy orangy brown with 1-finger frothy off-white head. Nose is intense fresh pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, graham crackers. Tastes rich, complex, with a fresh pumpkin taste that has that slight vegatal flavor and not an oversweet or fake pumpkin flavor, plus malt, biscuity graham crackers, and a good but not overwhelming amount of spiciness. This one is delicious.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2014 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky brown color with a small foamy dark tan head that faded quickly and left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The flavor was bitter with a bit of vinegar, moderate notes of nutmeg, clove and cinnamon and was lacing a malt base to subdue the spice. Medium dry spice finish. Undercarbonated, Disappointing.

22 oz. bottle purchased @ Beer Heaven. Bottle says 6.5 % ABV. Lager glass shows deep amber with brown hues. Thin off white head, not much lace. Nose is mostly nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste has canned pumpkin near the finish with the other mention spices. It’s light on spice which I like in the style. Body has a creamy texture. This is to my liking for a pumpkin.

draft at Coles, Buffalo NY. I thought this was a solid pumpkin Ale. medium mouthfeel, good pumpkin pie flavor, spiced but not overly so. nutmeg, cinnamon, clove. Not a big pumpkin fan but this was pretty good

Bottle:   Dark caramel, very thick and dirty, soft spritzy off-white head, little lacing.   Strong nose of brown sugar, followed by clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and subtle allspice.   The aroma reminds me of a pumpkin candle I once bought, lots of brown sugar in the aroma.   Somewhat of an earthy start, sweet, brown sugar, with softer spices than most others.   Falls a bit flat on the tongue, with a lighter body and mouthfeel that I would have liked.   Finishes with a slight herbal, earthy, vegetable like spicing.   Not as bright as the nose suggested, and even then that wasn’t too bright.   Decent, albeit a different kind of Pumpkin Ale.   Lots of Brown sugar and earthy spice notes.

This poured a dark orange with a beige head. Aroma was of light roast, pumpkin, and dark fruits. Flavor was bland caramel malt, lacking in distinct spice, but not over the top sweet.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 10/13/13

Aroma: The nose is full of pumpkin pie spice, dough, cinnamon, clove, yeast, and a little caramel
Appearance: It pours a clear reddish-orange color with a small beige head and minimal lace
Flavor: It is not quite as good as the nose, full of pumpkin and spice flavors, and yeast notes
Palate: This one has a nice mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and smooth, slightly dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a more than solid Pumpkin beer. Clearly this one is on the top side of what they make in my opinion, but maybe that is only because I really like the style. Still, hard to complain about the quality here.

Bomber from Capones. Poured a chunky orange brown with a long lasting average sized creamy light beige head. Aroma is a bit weak, notes of pumpkin spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, lots of biscuit and grains. Full body with a creamy overall feel and light to average small bubbly carbonation. Flavor is a step up from the aroma with notes light chocolate, grains, cereal malts, lighter spice than the aroma, pumpkin. Not bad.
