Nice dark brown pour, cream head. Aroma is nice spicy hops up front followed by mellow roasted malt. Flavor had a nice hop bite, smooth toasted malt, damn good!! AGAquino (667) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 23, 2012
Dark black colour with nice tan head. Impressive hoppy aroma. Noticeable licorice, toasted malt, bitter citrus in flavour. Lingering bitter.

Black pour, bubbly tan head. Coffee, roasted malt and citrus hops in the aroma. Citrus hops, pine, grapefruit, followed by a blast of coffee, toasted malts, slight dark caramel - very nice. medium body, carbonation is right. I prefer the VBA, but this is a worthy substitute - drinks likes 5% and a beer that I could gladly have multiple bombers of. Sammy (12091) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 22, 2012
My first LL, thanks John. Black IPA with a good roasting aroma, black bodied wth a big bubbly head. Medium mouthfeel. Not aggressive, more like a black ale with significant hopping. hopscotch (11044) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Bottle… Midnight black ale with a creamy, beige head. Good retention. The burnt, dank aroma furnishes bong water with lesser notes of vanilla and cocoa. Full-bodied with a whole-milk mouthfeel and laid-back carbonation. The flavor is burnt, bitter, mildly acidic and acrid. Finishes tangy, carbonic and bitter. Bottle courtesy of ctipping!

Big hop roasted earthy aroma, pours pitch black tight head with some lacing, taste all over the place some sweetness very bitter you could pick up a lot, medium body sticky texture, finish is a palate wrecking long lasting bitterness Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - APR 17, 2012
On tap at Three Penny Taproom in Montpelier, VT. Pours a black body with an inch thick, dense, creamy and frothy, darker brown head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing throughout. Aroma is solid with lots of citrus grapefruits, tangerines, and fresh pines with a nice chocolate and caramel malt backing as well as a dry, balanced, moderate roast. Flavor is just as nice. Lots of fresh citrus pines up front with some juicy resins coming through. Solid chocolate in the middle with some caramel that still allows the hops to shine as well as the really nice roastiness that comes in. Finishes dry and balanced with a moderate, roasty and piney bitterness along with a nice citrus and chocolate. Lengthy aftertaste following a smooth, medium body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, this is one of the better Black IPA’s that I’ve had. Lots of citruses and pines, but a really nice, balanced, big roastiness that gives this a nice dryness all blending with a solid chocolate note. Pretty impressed.
