Bottle to the face. Pours black with tan head. Sweet aroma but not the maple I wanted. Taste is sweet, chocolate, some sweetness from the maple. Have had better maple stouts before. DrewFace (969) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - OCT 3, 2015
Bottle share thanks to beechner224. Yummy, roasty, light maple, molasses, chocolate...tastes better since Homer isn’t sharing. Berard (639) - Salem, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 1, 2015
Bottle. This is a spring 2014 variant. Pours black with frothy tan head that lingers. Heavy cocoa flavor with exceptional boozyness for a non barrel aged variety. Typical Lawson's aroma.

Bottle to glass. Pours a deep brown to black color with a creamy light brown head. Aroma is wonderful, hints of maple, roasted malts, molasses. Flavor is slightly smokey, a bit astringent, but not bad. Overall a very nice beer. Thanks BJ! rxeight (3110) - Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2015
750, thanks to Matt for opening. Bitter, roasty malt, coffee beans, touch of sweetness. Touch of maple, but I wouldnt say that plays a leading role. Decent, although a bit boring not seeing the hype.

On tap @ Lawson’s Farmers Market.

Appearance: Black with a medium beige head and little lacing.
Aroma: Espresso coffee, ashes, roasted malts, vegeral notes and light maple/caramel notes.
Taste: Medium sweetness with a burst of espresso coffee, light acidic presence from the roasted malts, maple notes and light bitterness.
Palate: Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. Oily. A bit chewy. Light alcohol warmth. Espresso finish.
Overall: Rather heavy Imperial Stout considering the abv, but the balance isn’t bad. Quite flavorful with nice espresso features and an interesting maple presence. Tasty.
On tap at the brewery anniversary bottle release. Very opaque black pour, nice head. Aroma is very coffee, roasted coffee beans. Taste is bitter, roasty, tons of coffee, nice espresso flavor, woody, charred grain, light maple. Palate is full bodied, good carbonation. Heavy, but decently drinkable. Good stuff. emacgee (4680) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - APR 15, 2015
Thanks for the share JCB. Inky viscous black pour with a thin tan head. Maple-y nose with roasty notes and a sweet notes. A touch of soy sauce shines through as well. Acidic dark grain and coffee with some roast. Full bodied with no carbonation. jamesewelch (259) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 8, 2015
Draught at Farmhouse Tap & Grill, Maple Fest, 6oz half pour
Black with off white/tan head with low retention. Very malty and overwhelming sweet. Tasted too much like a milk/lactose stout with a near sourness to it. Slight/subtle maple. Very warm/alcohol/boozy taste. Full bodied and very creamy. A very harsh stout. Nice dry finish. The flavors didn’t seem to be well balanced. This is one of those half pours that I was glad I purchased rather than a full pour. Had a hard time finishing it even though the half pour cost more than full pours of other (better tasting) beer.
