Intensiver malziger Antrunk, röstig, schokoladig. Trocken. Röstiger werdend, herb, erdig, Vanillenoten. Wenig aber erkennbar alkoholisch, einen Ticken süßer zum Ende. 11/12/12/12/11/12 mcberko (18556) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 25, 2013
22 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits and caramel - not really getting any of the maple. Flavour brings out heavy roasted malt upfront, some dry wood, and a hint of the maple sweetness. Heavily roasted with a dry body. Almost no hint of maple at all, surprisingly. Low drinkability but pleasant flavours . Good stuff. jtclockwork (17068) - , New Jersey, USA - DEC 27, 2011
Bottle shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours black with mud coffee brown head. Nose/taste of maple, roasted chocolate malt, vanilla and coffee. Good roast character in the taste. Mouth feel starts creamy with a dry cocoa finish. More maple in the nose than taste, but it’s definitely there. Alcohol is completely hidden. Medium body. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - JAN 23, 2012
Pours black in color with a surprisingly tall tan head. Smells strong of booze, roasted malt, char, and even a bit of ash. There is some dark chocolate and coffee, but they’re not as prominent as I would like. The flavor is more of the same. A bit of a coffee grounds flavor as well as some bitter dark chocolate, licorice, and roasted malt. The flavor is a bit too astringent for my liking. Medium body and carbonation.

"200-some odd imperial stouts later, I don’t think i’m EVER going to get sick of this style. Here is another really nice entry into the catergory. The maple in this 2011 bottle is quite subtle, but adds another component to a very complex brew. Chocolate malt, roasted coffee, a decent amount of bittering hops on the back end, vanilla. Covers up the 10% exceedingly well and is very smooth on the palate. well done! close to a 4.4 but after 1 try I’ll go with the lower score for now."
