From notes. Enjoyed at a tasting at Jake’s house on May 20. 22 oz bottle. This one is a little older, but it should be decent. The pour is a thinner dark brown with a thin ring of almost egg shell colored head and a couple spots of lace as it disappears. The aroma is very roasty up front. There is a light smokiness that begins to come through and a hint of chocolate and tobacco. There is a definite sharp maple sweetness on the back end, but the smokiness for this one just doesn’t let me enjoy it as much as I want to. The flavor is just the same. There is a light roast and some good chocolate up front before the smoke comes through and then eventually lets the maple sharply stab in. The mouth feel is a little light and sharply carbonated with a quick-fading smoky maple on the end that doesn’t do a lot of good. Meh. Bottle shared with Luc, Pat and Chantal. Aroma: intense tobacco, smokey maple, spices. App: black with medium frothy moka head leaving great lacing. Look similar to an espresso. Roasty malty and maple aroma. Pours a nice black color with tan head. A really nice stout with a maple edge (as expected).

Tsted from the tap on the 04/03/2016 at the BCN Beer Festival. Black colour with a medium beige head. Aroma of espresso coffee, roasted malts and little caramel. Taste is medium sweet with lots of coffee, maple notes and roasted malts. Medium carbonation and strong coffee finish. Next one please! On tap at Mule Bar, Winooski, VT. Deep, chestnut brown. Velvety, thin, glossy, mocha head that sticks all the way down the glass. Nose has caramel truffle. Fudge. Maple syrup. Chocolate fudge cake. The full works. Bit of a cheesecake tang to it. Taste is tangy, fruity, dark chocolate bitter. Light dryness. Some sweetness, but no way as much as the aroma might suggest. Silky palate. From bottle at GABF 2015. Pour is deep brown with a small tan colored head and good lacing. Light maple, dark chocolate, espresso, some vanilla, light coconut, brown sugar and toffee in the Aroma. Taste is big dark cocoa, coffee, light maple, vanilla, toffee, caramel, and raisins. Slick mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Tasty stuff, but could really benefit from a little more body.
