Bottle thanks to Fitz! Pours a light slightly hazy golden yellow with a small creamy head. Aroma is grassy and dank, quite herbal with some slight citric and tropical notes. Flavor starts with that dank character and quickly picks up a strong grassy weedy note. Finishes on the pineapple upside cake sweet character with some honey and a lingering bitterness. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Good beer

thepatrickman (1452) - Lewes, East Sussex, ENGLAND - APR 4, 2016
Fresh bottle at home. This looks like a standard, single hop IPA, but the taste isn’t really like anything I’ve ever tried before. It’s earthy and sweet, and it somehow managed to taste quite a bit like maple syrup. I guess it was hoppy, but the Pacific Jade hop taste is so different from any other hop I’ve ever tasted that it wasn’t very refreshing.

Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - FEB 28, 2016
On tap at The Blackback Pub, Waterbury VT. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a slim bar pour’s kind of head. Quickly dissipated. Some messy lacing. The smell had a sweet lush orange pulp along with some grapefruit peel. Slight bitter citrus and piney hops grind in for the balance. Subtle sweet earthiness underneath. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine nicely. But there’s a bit less earthiness. Light semi-sweet to bitter citrus and piney aftertaste. Smooth juicy finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth allowing this to feel like I’m drinking orange juice. Overall, well, I absolutely loved this. Maybe because I had it on tap and fresh, I dunno. But I do know I’d have again.

Cheers again to Leighton for the New England haul. Light haze on this gold - amber beer, tiny white head. Odd nose of bitter skunky hops and cheese! Palate is crispy and semi dry. A little blue cheese amid the earth Pac Jade hops. Normality returns with a little citrus. Sem idry crispy finish. Weird - doesn’t taste infected but the cheese is really off putting.

Scopey (15431) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2013
Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours light golden orange with a small white head. The nose is over-ripe mango, pungency, farmyard, cheese, mould and sulphur...... The taste is pithy orange, grapefruit, farmyard, manure, earth , metallic, blue cheese, soap and mould with a dry, citric finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not great. Unfortunately my first Lawson’s Finest beer ain’t a good one.

Bottle @ Bruce’s. Cheers to Leighton for the pour! The appearance is amber with a small head. The nose is deeply pungent rotting herb garden, dirty barnyard, cowshed stink. A bit of red grape. Hints of blue cheese. A bit of mango, pacific fruits. The taste is spunky cheese. Rotting mango stand, brackish salty water funk. Moldy hops, a bit of mint. Medium body, soft carbonation. Overall, pretty unbalanced, a very ’rustic’ set of flavors. I certainly wouldn’t finish a bomber of this by myself. Overall, this is pretty unique. A fiasco of a beer. Interesting, but something of a fail.

Leighton (22027) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 28, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s, London. Pours lightly hazy orange with a fine, creamy white head. Interesting nose, some stinky feet, big apricot, ripe citrus. Light to medium sweet flavor, some light bready malts, earth, dank grass, hints of metal, orange. Medium bodied with creamy carbonation. Resinous finish, pine, grass, ripe citrus, orange, mango, apricot, peach, feet, some herbs. Interesting stuff, but doesn’t work on all levels.

crossovert (13724) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 25, 2013
650ml bottle. Basically it tastes and smells like pineapple. The malt is a bit sweet, its okay.

Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 13, 2013
In short: A citrusy blond IPA offering a commanding razor-sharp bitterness of high intensity. Good beer.
How: Tap at Three Penny Taproom, Montpelier VT.
The look: Clear blond body topped by a persistent small white head.
In long: The hoppy nose of medium intensity pushes forward fresh tangerines, fresh grapefruits and freshly cut grass. Taste starts with a basic neutral crackery pale malts backbone with some residual sugars (light white sugar sensation). The hops dominates the taste and provide a very sharp bitterness that is very grapefruity, lemony, yellowed grass and a bit spicy. Very assertive bitterness. Also tart apples show up here and there. Taste is much more intense than the aroma, the bitterness is very sharp and with a little acidity and spiciness that make this IPA almost a sipper. I could still taste it minutes after my last sip. Good beer for those who like intensely bitter blond IPAs. I was at the pub drinking this beer and frenetically typing my rating notes on my laptop and the dude sitting next to me asked if I was winning at the game I was playing on my computer… it’s ratebeer dude, we are all losers.

Bottle courtesy of Jeremy. Thanks! A: Very cloudy straw color. There’s almost a film on this. Great legs, but this is ugly. N: What. the. hell? Is this a bad bottle? Burnt onion powder and a flavor that the group described as stale, overcooked broccoli. Vegetal. The hops are, uh... More onion. Some citrus...I think? T: Slightly better, but that’s not a sterling compliment. Earth, biscuit, pine, and a moderate spiciness. Onion power is less prevalent, but then all the sudden, oh, god, the sharpness. Please someone stop the astringency. Stop. Ugh. M: Sticky. A good thing normally, but then it becomes the worst part of the beer because it cause the beer to stick to the palate and remind you of all the dry unpleasant flavors. Need water. O: I don’t know if this is a bad bottle or what, but after seeing this was named after the daughter, I had to wonder if they don’t like their girl? Bad, bad, bad.
