COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With this beer, I raise a toast to an original brewing pioneer, Greg Noonan. Brewed with the finest pale malt, toasted barely, toasted rye, un-bittered black & wheat malts, along with layers of dank earthey hops. I hope you enjoy this dark, hoppy delight! -Sean

On tap @ Prohibition Pig. Black with a huge creamy beige head and good lacing. Aroma is of roasted/burnt malt, slight citrus, slight pine and grassy hops. Taste is of roasted/burnt malt, citrus grassy hops, pine and a slight to moderate bitter finish. Medium body. Slightly dry. Good balance. Nice sessionable Black IPA.

Bottle from adamjackson, thanks bro. Poured a medium density black body with an average sized foamy beige head that settles down but leaves gobs of floating head everywhere. Aroma is great, starts off with burnt toast and yellow grapefruit citrus rind. With some warmth chocolate and brown bread. Great body, soft carbonation with a creamy finish and hop bitterness. Flavor is good but not as great as the aroma. Notes of burnt citrus rind, black toast, bakers chocolate and a hint of rye seeds. Great black IPA.

(17 avril 2013)

Pours dark brown/black with a thick, creamy tan head...nice retention. Aroma has notes of pine, burnt/roastiness, and citrus. Flavor is more burnt/bitter and has nice pine...some underlying dark bitter chocolate. Mouthfeel is light and the finish is very burnt/bitter, piney and dry.

Bomber delivered from the brewery same day at Warren Store. Pours opaque black/brown with a very healthy, lasting foamy head. Aroma deep hops with toasty light chocolate highlights. Body full with soft carbonation. Flavor broadly balanced with soft salty front morphing to bitter middle. Aftertaste tapers imperceptibly. Overall this is a wonderfully complex and sophisticated beer that manages to pull the best out of a dark beer with a carefully balanced bitterness with no lasting bite.

Bottle huge thanks to sflpunk for this one! Deep brown color with a thin foamy head. Nose holds beautiful toasty char, manure, spruce, rye spice. Flavor is much of the same; nice combination of roasty and hoppy bitterness, but beautiful dry palate, can sense the lower alcohol. Thank god someone made a black IPA that isn’t 7-8%. Kudos to a classy homage to Mr. Noonan, and for quite a fine beer.

Appears deep dark brown with tn head. Smell is roasty, toasty, chocolate with some citric hop notes. The taste follows the smell and ends roasty and slightly bitter. Light/medium body with nice carbonation. Tasty stuff.

Draft @ The Reservoir, Waterbury, VT. The Lawson’s snifter showed lots of white head floating on a pitch black liquid. The first thing I noticed was the aromatic citrus hops. With some Earthy, roasted malt. Flavor is hop forward (big citrus bitterness) with good supporting sweet chocolate malt. Secondary notes of pine and only light resin after its real warm. The body is lighter than the beer would lead you to believe. I enjoyed this brew a lot. Excellent, Hoppy citrus influenced Black Ale.
