A Northwest favorite. Subtle sweetness from a variety of crystal malts combined with English hops makes this a smooth drinking beer.

Grains: Pale, C-75, Munich, Vienna, Biscuit
Hops: East Kent Golden, Ahtanum

Tap @ Pies & Pints. Clear, light amber pour with a white head leaving a moderate lace. A pretty standard amber with a nutty, sweet , medium body and mild pine hops. Smooth, tasty, but nothing to write home about.

Lazy Boy, Everett. Darker caramel brown, clear. Small foam. Bitter vienna malt, harder bitter than I’d expect. Sweet and pretty thin, amber caramel towards finish. Not terrible.

On tap at Lazy Boy, pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of floral hops. Flavour is kind of vegetal, with bready malt and just enough hops to be noticeable. The vegetal notes make this seem a bit off. Not too good.

Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber color. Nose has some bread and caramel malts coming through. Taste is slightly sweet with the caramel being present, but manages to have a nice bite to it. Decent drink.

I totally approached this beer incorrectly. I thought it was an American Amber but was taken aback by the first sip and realized, HEY this is an ESB! Chewy maltiness in the flavor and a slight ’meaty’ characteristic. Notes of biscuit, cracker, raw doughy-ness, along with a floral richness. There’s also a touch of fruitiness given off from the yeast. Malty, sweet, and a little fruity. Really similar to RedHook ESB.

Amber colored pour with a nice head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, and floral hops. Toasted caramel and some off flavors that I could not put my finger on are accompanied by a mild hoppy finish.

On tap at the brewery. Biscuity aroma. Medium-strong malt heaviness and stays on the tongue. Full flavored throughout. Fantastic!

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber with a lacy white head. A lot of nuttiness, bread and some toffee in the nose and flavor, along with some citrus/herbal hops. Clean finish.
