UPDATED: AUG 19, 2008 A copper color with an off white head. The aroma contains citrus such as lemons and oranges but also has a heavy malt presence. The flavor is rather malty for an IPA with a hint of pine and some lemons as well. Overall not amazing but an ok IPA. drfabulous (8813) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - MAY 30, 2008
Snuck back in a suitcase with other Washington goodies. When given the choice to have Russian River Supplication or this beer tonight, my wife chose the Lazy Boy. Lazy Boy it be. A very nice IPA with hops and pine and yadda yadda. Still, why would she choose this over a RR? Who knows. I just open what she asks for and hope to sneak the RR to myself later. Appearance: Pours a clear, amber body with a bubbly, white head.
Smell: Sweetish, toasty golden caramel aroma with fruity notes of citrus and juiced apricots.
Taste: Pale malts, lightly toasted, with a subdued caramel sweetness. Splash of good, wholesome spring water. Slight vein of fruitiness running through the overall taste. Light citrusy hoppiness and a medium bitterness. Finishes dry and relatively crisp.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A good, standard India Pale Ale. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 24, 2008
Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of juicy, grapefruity hops with a toasty, semi-sweet. Body starts lightly sweet and piny resiny hoppy with a light balance of sweet pale malts before a drier, bittersweet finish. An ok IPA but needs a more assertive hop flavor. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 24, 2008

Resiny piney hops and mellow buttery fruit (peach, pear, green grape) aromas. Syrupy Floral notes with light woodsy dry hay undercurrent.
Sweet fruits up front (strawberry). Mildly toasted malts and some buttery flavors.
Kinda let down by the hops, which seemed flat. I was only let down because it smelled so good.

Brewed in Everett, Washington. Uses a blend of Pale, Crystal,
and Munich Grains and Chinook, Cascade, Amarillo hops. Clocks in and 75 IBU’s and 6.5% alcohol by volume. Nice looking beer! Has a rich creamy head complimented by a clear, dark copper color and fine lace.Deploys a sweet malty
aroma with strong flowery hop notes. Smells smooth and balanced. To the taste it has an initial touch of sweet caramel malt flavors quickly followed by a medium bitter bite. Very nicely balanced and finishes mildly bitter. To the pallet it is full bodied and has a smooth and distinct mouthfeel. Solid all around IPA, but not my fav. Needs a little more distinct flavor. This would make a great burger and a brew combo. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - APR 25, 2008
Bottle shared by acrdz. Thanks. Poured a clear medium orange color. head was off white and left some lace behind on the glass. Smelled of graham cracker and grapefruity hops. Light bodied and dry with carbonation on the higher end of the spectrum. Toffee malt flavor paled somewhat compared to the citrusy hops and assertive hop bitterness that peaked at about 7 out of 10. I liked this one. ironchefscott (357) - portland, Oregon, USA - APR 24, 2008
