Thin light chestnut and tawny body. Whitish thin foam head. Swirly and wispy. Nutmeg note. Creamy and thin in the finish, but overall tasty. beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - NOV 17, 2007
Big hoppy citrus nose. The spice didn’t show much, but the malts were roasty enough to give it a light holiday feel. Pours dark mahogany. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - NOV 9, 2007
darkest brown, palest tan head. clear when you hold it to the light. aroma is faint, there’s a bit of sweetbread there. great dark roasted flavor without being heavy in the mouth. finishes sweet like a baltic porter. i heard that they aren’t spicing this beer anymore, the category should be changed. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 19, 2007
UPDATED: DEC 8, 2008 Light brown with medium head. Light toasted caramel malt with some honey, cinnamon, vanilla and citrus. Moderate sweetness with a bitter finish. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - FEB 7, 2007
On draft at the brewery. Pours a clear reddish amber with an off-white head. Spice in the nose and taste. Nice, but not the best beer from this brewer.

Knowing the brewery’s size, it’s very possilbe the kegs have some descrepency, but the beer I was poured at the (favorite) Parkway tavern in Tacoma was nearly undrinkable. Flat pour with no head, little aroma other than an astringent cold spiciness and a dull mahogony color. Thick over-the-top portions of nutmeg or all-spice, with no real solid malt to smooth things out. I definitely need to give this a second try, but I’ll be very cautious.
