a tan head and dark with red color. Aroma is dark malt-cocoa/roasty. Taste is dark malt-cocoa/roasty, ashy, some earthy hops.
Growler at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured a dark brown with a red hue with a small grayish brown head. Aroma had dark malts with some notes of dark dough and some hay. Flavor had a flavor of mainly dark malts with a touch of earthiness. hopscotch (11049) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 10, 2010
Growler… Clear, deep ruby beer with a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose is mainly of toasted nuts and easygoing milk chocolate. Almonds really stand out. Medium to full-bodied and slick with stinging carbonation. Moderate chocolate and espresso flavors. Hopped up nicely. Lengthy, moderately bitter, coarse/dry finish. Growler courtesy of TheCheeseMan!

Brown pour, light head. Roasty and light chocolate aroma. Flavor is much the same. Good but not world class. Still a drinkable porter. j12601 (10955) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 16, 2010
Growler courtesy of The Cheeseman in the mystery swap. Pours a clear ruby hued brown with a medium sized tanned beige head. Caramel, a bit of toast. Pretty empty overall, not offensive or anything but just lacking so much that makes a good porter, well…good. Finishes with more watered down roast flavors and caramel. Mediocre. But, my first Mississippi beer. kp (10882) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JAN 4, 2010

growler, courtesy of cheeseman.
pours light brown, thin off-white head.
Aroma, toffee, light smoke and caramel.
Flavors, body was rather thin for a porter, resembled more a brown.
Touch of caramel malts, roasted, hints of coffee and butterscotch with a touch of bitter hops mixed with caramel in the finish. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - APR 7, 2010
Sampled at RBWG 2010. Big coffee punch in there with some chocolate as well, but it’s a bit thin, quite bitter. Pretty disappointed in this one.
