Nice looking stout, bubbly beige head. Aroma of roasted nuts, tobacco, caramel and toffee. Pretty light and thin for a stout. Tastes like a not very sweet Mr. Goodbar...some earthiness too. Not bad, very drinkable.

12fl.oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a huge most good lasting tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate malt, vanilla and earth. Taste of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, lactose and vanilla, quite nice!

Poured from a party pig into a Lazy Magnolia pint glass. Pours dark brown with only the slightest amount of light showing through the edges. The head was a massive light mocha which lingers as a cap and leaves good lacing. The aroma is fairly mild and dominated by dark roasted malts and lactose. There is also some sweet sugary notes that might be attributable to the sweet potatoes. The taste is even sweeter than the aroma suggests with some chocolate, brown sugar and sweet potatoes. There is still some roasted malts in the background but this a very sweet stout. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with lots of carbonation. This is an extremely drinkable stout and one of the better sessionable stouts I’ve had in a while. I’m glad I had the opportunity to pick this up, and it is, without a doubt, the best beer I’ve had from my home state of Mississippi.

Draft sample at the Free the Hops 2009 Blastoff Party. Black in the glass with a tan head that had some lasting a light lace. Roasty malt aroma with milk chocolate undertones. The flavor also found roast and chocolate with some coffee. Medium body with a coffee aftertaste. Tasty!

1/2 pint at Trappeze Pub. This is rather dark with a decent head. The aroma is sweet with lots of chocolate and caramel with a nuttiness. I didnt really get any sweet potato until I took a few sips. Its kind of mild but provides a smoothness, for lack of a better word. Its a pretty sweet beer with plenty of chocolatey flavor, but not over the top. This is one of the better things Ive had from Lazy Magnolia.

Draft. Pours near black with a beige head. Light roasted malty aroma, with coffee and sweet malts. The flavor has hard roasted malts, coffee, and a light nutty sweetness. Pretty good.

Dark brown with a tan head. The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is more of the same. I get a light amount of char as well as some heavily roasted malt. There is also a hint of sugary sweetness. Medium to thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Tampa, Fl - Total Wine - 12 oz bottle. Deep dark black oily pour, sticky khaki colored head, light film of lacing. Aroma has nice lactic notes with some bittersweet chocolate notes. Flavor is full bodied with some bittersweet dark chocolate, a bit of day old coffee and a hint of licorice. Mouthfeel has a nice creaminess to it, good lacticity, Impressive.
