COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep South Pale Ale is Lazy Magnolias Pale Ale, a crisp and clean beer with the perfect balance of hops and malt. Its body and clean finish are ideally suited for all seasons, and the brew is moderately hopped for a great aroma and impressive finish. Deep South Pale Ale doesnt fit into any category of Pale Ale, its a style we made up!

The Story
Deep South Pale Ale, formerly know as Reb Ale, was Lazy Magnolias first recipe designed to accommodate one, specific location. It was brewed in recognition of the overwhelming support of the Oxford, Mississippi market, home to the University of Mississippi. Oxford is a special place, deeply rooted in history and a vibrant center for the arts and Southern culture. Because of our consistent growth into new distribution areas, we had to change the name to accommodate our expanding. The label may not say Reb Ale anymore, however, we rebelled against style standards to come up with our own Deep South Pale Ale to make a beer for the rebel in all of us.

Bottled. An amber beer with a fluffy off-white head - a bit over carbonated. The aroma is very fruity combined with notes of elderflowers and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of elderflowers, hops, malt, spices, and straw, leading to a dry spicy finish. A bit light bodied.

Bottled, thanks Cletus! Cloudy pale amber, rich head. Dusty fruity nose. Sweetish with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Salty fnish with good bitterness. Not the most flavourful beer ever, but a nicely drinkable one.

A: The beer pours a golden amber color with a small white head. S: Lightly hoppy on the aroma with a hop profile comprised mostly of citrus peel and grass. Otherwise, its quite sweet with lots of toffee and bread malt aromas. Maybe just a light floral hop note. T: Not the most pleasant flavor. It begins with stale bread, a touch of metal, and cardboard. A rather light floral hop note with sweet malt/bread and some fruity yeast esters. Hints of grass and a very mild bitterness. M: Medium in body with medium to low carbonation. O: My first Mississippi beer was a disappointing one. Decent aroma, but below average flavor.

Bottle as Deep South Pale Ale from Julie who got it at Specs in San Antonio. Pours light amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt with some citrus? hop. Med body. Its APA roast malt, and there seems to be strong hop - but the hop is like fruit and pecan? A rather unique APA IMHO. Wouldnt be my goto beer, but few APAs would. Certainly a good bitter, hoppy finish.

Bottle. Beer of the month club. As "Lazy Magnolia Deep South Pale Ale". Clear orange-amber color with a quickly-dissipating white head. Pleasant floral and citric hops aroma with light grainy hints. Flavor has a bit of maltiness, slightly sweet, a bit bready, light grainy notes, fruity hints and a bitter hoppy finish with grass, grapefruit and floral notes. Medium-bodied. Enjoyable and easy-drinking.
