2012-03-17. Dark golden body, tiny white head. Muted aroma, mild pale malt. Sort of buttery. Similar flavour, sort of buttery floral malt, very light bitterness. Average bodied palate. Okay, Id drink it again but probably wouldnt but it again. The band was better than the beer. On tap at Fritzels on Bourbon Street as NAwlins Gold, NOLA

Draft served in a pint glass at the Royal Street Bar (R-Bar) in New Orleans. Renamed Nawlins Golden Ale for the New Orleans market; I read this pseudonym had something to do with the NO distributor and legal issues, yada yada yada. I wound up seeing it several places in NO throughout the weekend under that name. Pours a clear gold with almost no head. Aroma and flavor are pretty similar- notes of honey, straw, malts, sugar, and some hops. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Nice honey ale.

Tap, NOLA International Beer Festival 2012, labeled Nawlins Gold. Pours a clear dark gold with a nice foamy white head. Pretty minimal nose, just some light bready malt, a little doughy yeast. The flavor is much the same, bready malt, just a touch of bitterness, and maybe a little soapy note on the finish. Lighter bodied with fizzy carbonation. Your average Blonde Ale.
