COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Hopsípitality is our offering of delicious cheer to Lazy Magnoliaís loyal fans all over the Southeast. A traditional IPA at its core, we have built Southern complexity into this new brew. The aroma is a bold citrus burst on the front end with hints of tropical fruits such as grapefruit, orange and mango in the finish. Lazy Magnoliaís brewers used a unique hop blend for an exciting dry-hoped aroma. Southern Hopsípitality has a Light Straw color and crisp, smooth finish on the palate. With an alcohol content right at the 6% ABV limit and a very hoppy 60 IBUs, Southern Hopsípitality is breaking new ground for Lazy Magnolia and the Magnolia State.

On tap at Taco Mac. I was surprised by the low score this beer received. I thought it was a decent IPA. Hops dominate the aroma - both citrus and pine present. Not real balanced though, mostly bitter pine hop flavor, but not unpleasant. Oily mouthfeel, body might be just below moderate. Overall, nice hoppy IPA.

Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Pale gold in colour, with a decent, white, head. Plenty of floral hops, fresh pineapple and grapefruits, suggestion of pine, and crisp balancing malts, before a dry, hoppy finish. Very good.

12 oz bottle. Bottled on 12/03/15. (Collins Midtown Liquor) Tulsa, OK. It's almost a year since the bottling but I'm willing to take my chance. Very lively golden color with a bog foamy white head. And that's how fresh IPAs they are selling here. First the aroma is tropical fruity hoppy then turning glue-y and turpentiny. The flavor is... pure horror. Glue, turpentine and vomit. This probably needs another try a bit fresher. Wish I get it somewhere. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Very tight seal. Pours a burnt orange color. Very cloudy. Pours with a very nice thick, very pillowy head. Dust colored head. About two fingers. Excellent head retention, good lacing. Very, very pretty.

Aroma is balanced between citrus and pine. Thereís some grapefruit, some orange zest. Thereís some malty sweetness, a little bread crust.

Taste is like light IPA. A session IPA, yup. Pretty decent hop bitterness, but not overly bitter. Lots of citrus, orange zest, grapefruit, and lime. Yeah, the lime is a little different for IPAs. But, itís clearly lime. A little hops resin on the finish, no, actually a lot. It lingers a bit. It makes the beer seem more bitter than it really is.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Not so much watery though. Itís a little gritty, itís not clean. The grit, plus the dryness of the beer makes it interesting to drink.

Overall, itís not bad. The aroma was pretty interesting to start, but it leveled off some. This could be the most beautiful beer, or at least IPA, Iíve ever seen. But itís lacking in body and taste a little. Itís good, itís not my favorite. Yes, I would recommend trying it, and Iíd probably buy it again.

Bottle - Pours medium amber-orange, foamy white head. Big whiff of citrus and pine, hay. Taste of grapefruit, orange, orange peel, pine, sour dough, malt, with a bitter hops end. I must have gotten this fresh, because it had a nice foam and was a good bitter smack of hops (crisp). Cíest bon.

Pours a hazy orange-amber color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of earthy hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Not sure of the age of this beer so maybe better then my rate. Pour is light Amber with medium white head. Aroma is weak but has a little citrus. Dry and a little tart witch I like but odd for a ipa. Would like to try again.
