COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

I'm a boring beer drinker. Mostly I hate anything that isn't domestically mass produced. This is the first craft type beer I've liked. Bravo.

Very smooth creamy flavor, allows the patron to enjoy more than one since it is not a heavy beer. On tap at the Clinton Elks Lodge, Clinton, Missouri

12 oz. bottle pours a clear reddish brown with small off-white head that fades quickly. Aroma is malty and nutty, with pecans, roasted malts, brown sugar, and vanilla. Taste is slightly sweet with a dry finish. Body is medium with slight carbonation and a syrupy mouthfeel.

It pours light brown with a light brown head. Head retention is moderately low. The beer is clear overall. It has aromas of roasted nuts, pecans, and caramel. There are some slight spicy elements in the background. There is a strong nut flavor that is highlighted by pecans. There are some elements of caramel and other nuts with light spice. It has a moderate body with a lightly bitter finish. Overall, this is a nutty beer with light spiciness.

Deep copper color. Nose is nuts and malts. Pecans are noticeable, but the beer lacks body and balance.
