Timber Beast is the first in Lazy Magnolias Back Porch Series. A spicy, full-bodied Imperial Rye Pale Ale balanced with a generous dose of Zythos hops. Retreat to the Back Porch and be a little Lazy. Big Cheers Yall.

12oz bottle shared. Pours a murky orange/copper color with an off white head. Nice lacing all around the grass. Nice malty nose with hop undertones. The flavor has a solid spice of rye in the front and Back. The hop is somewhat grassy and piney. Mixed with the rye makes for a great flavor. Overall a solid offering from lazy magnolia.

A dark amber colored body with small white head. Aromas of Rye, crusty bread, and piney hops. Flavors of nearly the same. I think it could be more balanced and that would add to the palate. The alcohol didnt really rise through for a 9% ABV so that was good. All in all a pretty good brew and one that I would drink again.

Pours hazy orange.smell fruity citrus, earthy. Taste bitter pine, solvent, heavy on hops without regard for flavor. Some alcohol present it seems.full body crisp carbonation. Decent but unrefined and a bit harsh. Didnt finish.

Got that Mississippi tick thanks to fiveacestx. Pours a cloudy golden color with a white head. Some hops are faded at this point but aromas of light tangerine and grass. Taste is on the bitter side. Medium thick body and medium carb.

Big sweet grapefruit immediately followed by big pine resin. Excellent balance between the two huge flavors. Just a touch of alcohol in the finish. Its not as complex as some Ive had, but it is very well balanced. The 9% ABV is almost completely hidden. I would definitely have this again.

Aroma is citrus, spicy, herbal, malt, rye. Flavor has a strong dose of rye but not overpowering, floral perfume hops, rich caramel, notes of raisins. Body is quite full. This is a really good beer.

Serving: Bottle. Hazy brown pour with a decent off white head. Surprisingly floral nose leads to a citrus, rye, and floral palate. Medium bodied with an off dry finish. Interesting and certainly drinkable.

Bottle - Orange, piney and spice with a sweet finish. Clear gold with a decent beige head. Lots of orange and citrus, with an acidic bitterness that finishes sweet and very dry. The bitterness overpowers the beer.

A dark golden color with three finger of cream colored head. Smells of pine, grass, a slight sweet flower. Taste has a medium hop bite at first with pine citrus flavors then gives way to a biscuit with bitter then ends with a little more bitter but some honey sweetness and some caramel malt. Bitter stays on the tongue, medium body medium carbonation. A little sweeter on the finish once it warms. A pretty decent IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
