Lubiere (13898) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 29, 2008
Deep dark stout with a thin moka head. Strong aroma of dark coffee grinds, not bad. In mouth, light coffee and perfumey, but rather light, watery. On tap at brewpub June 14, 2008.

DuffMan (10421) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JUL 30, 2013
Bottle, shared with my wife and my dad. Dark brown pour, but not dense or hearty enough to block transillumination, golden highlights, nice off white head that leaves a little lace. Aroma is wet coffee grounds with hints of chocolate. Palate is thin, coffee dominates over background roast. Finish is dry.

olio (10260) - Tampere, FINLAND - AUG 18, 2016
50 cl bottle.
Pours dark mahogany red color with a large off-white head. Very strong coffee aroma, subtle orange notes, toffee, some caramel and malts. Bitter malty flavor, coffee, some cocoa, toffee and mild hops. Like a lighter version of Nørrebro La Granja Stout. Good but a bit thin.

MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 6, 2010
My Bottom Line:
Explosive coffee beans form a delightful aroma atop this brew’s torrefied cereals, before roasted bitterness is laced in discreet chocolate.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam floats atop the brown-lined black.
-The base beer doesn’t appear to be an actual Stout, but with some dark malts and lots of coffee, it sure does the job if you have a hankering for something-like a Coffee Stout.
-This is very drinkable throughout. Coffee didn’t get on my nerves even though it is prominent.

On tap at the Chambly festival.

czar (9057) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - APR 20, 2011
pours clear dark brown, almost black, with a light beige head, disappearing relatively quick. strong coffee nose and some dark chocolate notes. roasted malts, some maple syrup (just a touch of sweetness). medium hopped - resinous and grassy, along with the bitterness and light acidity left by the coffee. soft to average carbonation, light to medium body - slightly thin mouthfeel. good.

(Rating #3258)

Bottle [500ml]. Pours dark brown, almost black, with amber hues and a large semi-lasting frothy tab head. Aroma is coffee first and foremost followed by light leafy hops, roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour is coffee, almost like and iced coffee, along with hints of hops, chocolate and roasted malt. Slightly dry, roasty finish. The coffee in the aroma and flavour is slightly burnt. Average to medium bodied, almost creamy mouthfeel. Pretty good but the burnt element drops it down a bit. -- Rated via Beer Buddy.

Boutip (6374) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 1, 2012
Draft: Poured a black color stout with a small dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of coffee is dominant but not overly dry with some roasted malt notes. Taste is a great mix between some dry roasted malt with some good notes of coffee with light black chocolate notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Well brewed with great balance to avoid too much dryness.

500ml bottle pours black in colour with a finger and a half of light brown head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains and coffee with chocolate. Taste is a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a well crafted stout that is both balanced and tasty. Very enjoyable.

Bottle 500 ml [2010] 171/1000 AND Bottle 500 ml [2011] 494/2000. Apperance: Pours dark brown with a medium beige head, quickly diminishing. Aroma: Coffee and roasted malt, but not a nice coffee aroma. Taste: Watery and coffee. No complexity and not well balanced. Overall: It’s like drinking a cold coffee, and a bad one. Used to much better beers from the brewer (see Mackroken and Mackroken Grande Réserve).
