Amber brown with large, rocky, foamy head. Neat , presentable ale.
Fresh, citric hop aroma on top. Sweet sugar malts behinds.
Woody brown with light hint of burn. Green, raw hopps are shown yet they are well covered by, meaty, sticky solid brown malts. Carbos are a bit on sharp side. Over all quiet refreshing.

Nutty and caramel malts are marred by some lightly vegetal cabbagey DMS. Clear burnished copper coloured body is topped by a low, dense and lasting off white head. Caramel and nutty malt flavours with almost imperceptible bitterness that simply keeps the sweet malts in check. Slight DMS especially in the aftertaste. Sampled at the brewepub, amber-brown color, with a creamy beige head, leaving laces, spicy nose of coriander, cinnamon, even a touch of juniper, toasted malt, hint fruitiness, nutty accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with yeasty but quite strange washing soap character, an almondy bitterness, nutty, sweet toasted malt, hint of fruitiness, leading towards a flowery hops bittering finish. This beer has a dark brown color, with the aroma of sweet caramel. You can taste some spicy cinnamon to it and a nutty smell. It ends with a small bitter taste.

Sampled draught at the Mondial de la Bière in Montreal, 2006. Thick lacing and a lasting smallish cream head atop the light clear caramel body....nice nuttiness apparent immediate in the aroma, but also some unpleasant soapiness and, uh oh, DMS and rancid oiliness as it warms, blech.....the body is significantly better, quite sweet and only a touch oily, edging towards a surprisingly strong acidity at midpalate and kissed by a hint of vanilla and some woody dryness towards the easy finish....caramel soothes all the way through and softens the rather watery body. heemer77 (5355) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUN 5, 2006
Sampled at Mondial 2006. Medium Brown body with an off white head. The aroma was caramel with some vegetable character. Almost like an English style barley wine. Odeur de noisette et de caramel.Couleur brun tres fonce presque noire avec un beau collet de mousse.
Au gout elle a des notes de noisettes un bon astringence et une legere amertume.
