Ungstrup (38927) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 21, 2005
A hazy dark red beer with a small collapsing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel. The flavor is dry with notes of roated bread as well as a light smoke note.

joergen (29598) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 19, 2005
Red brown coloured with an off white head. Aroma of berries and malts with notes of caramel. Weird flavour of berries with hoppy notes and some strange bitter notes.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2008
Bottled. Deep amber colour, not much head. Aroma is fruits, metal, yeast, earth and sourness. Flavour is mild fruityness along with caramel and sugary hints. Earthy aftertaste.

TBone (18552) - Pori, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2008
Bottled (BB 09/2008)
Ruby color, not much head. Grassy, a bit toffeish aroma. Cellary, slightly sourish taste. Very earthy, grassy biere de garde. Very French with English influence, not like Belgian brunes (label says "brune").

FatPhil (17334) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 7, 2008
750ml bottle (Tuulensuu, Tampere, French days 2008) shared by Tbone_ - thanks! As "brun". Deep red. Aroma is sour initially, but roasted coffee later, and quite sweet. Good carbonation and sour in the mouth. Taste follows - a little sour too, and also roasted - that builds up over time. In some ways it’s a little watery, but on the whole it’s a pretty decent mix of tastes spoilt only by the unsophisticated sourness.

bhensonb (15965) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 1, 2013
750 c&c from Wine and Cheese in Clayton, MO. Aroma is smooth and malty with a hint of chocolate. Med body or better. Mild carb. Flavor is malt, very light chocolate, wood, light noble hop. It comes together very well in a slightly musty way. Gets very woodily astringent. Excellent ale.

Christian (13927) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 15, 2010
Dark amber with a lasting off-white head. Big malty aroma with caramel and some dried fruit. Sweet malty flavour with dried fruit and herbal hops, and a touch of chocolate

bierkoning (13813) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2007
75 cl, from the brewery. Deep dark brown color, thin but persistant foamy head. Malt, toffee and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Malty, salty flavor (Maris otter malt?) with laurel, caramel and licorice. Long salty aftertaste. Very British, very well made and not without complexity, just a tad thin, maybe.

hopdog (13191) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 15, 2018
750ml bottle. Poured a deep brown color with an off white head. Caramel, earthy, and graininess.

thewolf (12932) - Kolding, DENMARK - MAY 28, 2010
Bottle @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours clear chestnut with a small, frothy, white head. Aroma is mild, light chocolate, plums. Highish carbonation, good dry mouthfeel. Flavour is suddenly kinda porter-like. Roasted, chocolate, light milky, some blackberries, mild malty tartness. Lots of malts, roasetd dry finish. Quite unbalanced.
