Draught sampled at Mondial de la bière, Mulhouse 09/2013. Convincing UK Challenger hop profile, smooth but not creamy, thinnish, some milk chocolate, roasted nuts, none too sweet. thomat (4209) - Gteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 13, 2011

rauchbier (3949) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2004
Bottle conditioned, 750ml corked bottle. Jet black, thick, lasting coffee coloured head and gentle condition. Big spicy liquorice aroma, with background notes of coffee and roast barley. A liquorice sweetness in the mouth is kept in check by a gentle roastiness that contributes some dryness. It still has a degree of spicy fruitiness but less obvious than in the nose. Finish is short and coffee sweet with some roast barley dryness and a lingering liquorice note.

Bought from a little Calvados store in France. Apparently the brewery has now closed down and this is one of the last bottles. Pours black with a good tan head. The taste is rich, fruity and sweet at first before bitter liquorice notes on the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Really very good. stobbe74 (3790) - DENMARK - JUL 4, 2010
