Bottle from Jug and Bottle, Bubwith. Dark brown. Tan head that turns into an odd, green tinged film? Aroma is a sour, vegetal weirdness. Some blackcurrant. Some roasted coffee. Taste errs toward the sour side of all that. Smooth palate, though, and oddly quite enjoyable. Insipid, it isnt.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of stout, moccha, dried fruits, light medical notes. Sweet flavour, moccha, light fruity, caramel. Sweet malty finish. Not bad.
(From 75cL bottle @ RBBSG II, Gent 2013. Thanks for sharing, Erwin!)

rauchbier (3867) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2004
Bottle conditioned, 750ml corked bottle. Jet black, thick, lasting coffee coloured head and gentle condition. Big spicy liquorice aroma, with background notes of coffee and roast barley. A liquorice sweetness in the mouth is kept in check by a gentle roastiness that contributes some dryness. It still has a degree of spicy fruitiness but less obvious than in the nose. Finish is short and coffee sweet with some roast barley dryness and a lingering liquorice note.

bartlebier (3815) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 5, 2013
Draught sampled at Mondial de la bire, Mulhouse 09/2013. Convincing UK Challenger hop profile, smooth but not creamy, thinnish, some milk chocolate, roasted nuts, none too sweet.

Bought from a little Calvados store in France. Apparently the brewery has now closed down and this is one of the last bottles. Pours black with a good tan head. The taste is rich, fruity and sweet at first before bitter liquorice notes on the finish. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Really very good.

Bottled. Dark brown. Nice, inviting coffee aroma with notes of cocoa and burnt malt. Dry roasted flavour of coffee, licorice and dark bread with subtle sweetness from vanilla and cocoa. Solid body. Long roasted aftertaste with notes of chocolatesauce and vanilla. Nice stout. Thanks Per.
