Very robust milk stout. Characteristic of this type of beer and benefits from being drunk at warmer temperatures. A powerful and heavy drink with a spicy sweet taste that is deceptive. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - JUL 21, 2013

Bottled. Deep rich engine oil black with a fine, stained brown head. Rich complex, toasted malt aroma. Ashy, burnt flavour. Sweet richness, gives way to intense, dryer, toasted malt flavours. I tried this fresh and bottled, side by side at the brewery, and the bottled was far more complex, refined and subtle. A fantastic beer for any stoutie. pitch dark, smooth soft large light brown head. I didn’t really pour it in any special way, but it looks perfectly fantastic.
sweet malty, sweet caramelly, lacto, roasted notes. nice mildish roasted sweet aroma.
flavor is sweet malty , faint mild caramel, lots of roasted stuff that goes more hard roasted and charchoal like in the aftertaste, licorice. super!.
The flavor is deep and full, palate is soft. This stout is really good, even though the abv is not way high. 77ships (10771) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - AUG 11, 2013
Courtesy of Erwin. Thx! 750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG II. Very dark brown with little tanned head. Nose is sweet choco, mocha, chocolate, dark grains and spices. Taste is bitter with some roast upfront, chocolate, grains, dark grains, milky coffee, light hay and grapes, bitter herbs in the back. Strongly grainy body. Very enjoyable sweet stout.

The appearance of this beer is a very, very dark brown with a small tan head, and the aroma is reminiscent of caramel, chocolate, and roasted malts. The taste is mildly umami, slightly sweet, and a touch bitter, and the palate combines a slick texture, medium body, long finish, and soft carbonation. In bottle. Pours a dark brown colour with a fair, light tan head. Aroma of chocolate, treacle, coffee and a little sweet and vegetal. An odd lactic flavour with cabbage, grassy hops, alcohol and yeast. Moderate carbonation and an oily mouth-feel. Strangely alluring with lingering alcohol and yeast. from Mondial de la Bière 2013, Mulhouse; draught - black beer with a persistent beige foam; roasted dark chocolate; medium-bodied, low carbonation, pralines and licorice in the finish; gently dry and fairly hoppy - very nice one superspak (5871) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - SEP 22, 2014
750 ml bottle into snifter, no bottle dating. Pours fairly pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, brown bread, herbal, grass, pear, apple, light pepper, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, earthy hops, and fruity yeast ester notes; with solid strength. Taste of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, brown bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, light fruitiness, and roast/yeast earthiness. Slight earthy hop/roast bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, toast, dark bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and roast/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; with good robustness and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice English milk stout. All around good complexity and robustness of roasted/bready malt and moderate earthy hop/yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. omhper (25538) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 13, 2006
[Bottled, thanks rauchbier!] Transparently black with rich, firm head. Concentrated aroma of roasty malt. Dry with soft but firm mouthfeel. Creaamy with notes of coffee. Licorice-like bitterness finishes it off. Subtle, yet flavourful. Very clean, yet interesting.
