Upon first smell it seemed almost like smoke and turned into the barnyard smell noted by others. Pale gold in colour. A bit on the sweet side. I wouldn't buy this for myself again.

Bottled from local supermarket in Champagne region, France. Clear yellow or light golden colored, not that much carbonation. Nose of apple with notes of citrus and even melon, bit funky (in a good way). Balanced flavor, dry, with still some sweetness and sourness, somewhat funky, pretty full flavored, solid mouthfeel. At 3 euro’s the most expensive bottle i could find, and approximately 10 times cheaper than a bottle of Champagne, even in this region. With this quality, I’ll definitely stick to cider instead of Champagne.

Rating #2692 - 2016.07.28 - Sampled at Taste of Edmonton. Lightly hazy yellow colour, fairly carbonated, bubbly foam dissipates rapidly. Aroma is fresh cut apples, mild funk, mild sour apple. Palate is more of the same. light sweet notes, balanced by the dryness provided by the ripened fruit and alcohol, mild funk, mild pepper

Scopey (17070) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 12, 2017
Bottle picked up at Fountainhall Wines, Aberdeen. It pours clear pale gold with a quickly disipaiting white head. The aroma is earthy, soft funk, tannin, sweet apple pie & custard and pear. The taste is crisp, clean, firmly dry, sweet red apple, some apple pie, grape skin, touch of acidity, light funk and tannins with a drying finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Quite subtle in ways, but also rather interesting. Quaffable.

Sample at Waldo Hopfest 2016. Comes a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma and taste of apples with some wood and barnyard. On the dry side. Nice.

DuffMan (10983) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2016
Bottle, shared with friends. Light golden, fine carbonation. Medicinal phenols and corky undertones compliment very attenuated apple backbone. Finish is dry dry dry. Too medicinal for my liking.

From 0,75l bottle, Pours clear golden liquid, medium fizzy white head, fell down immediately, Aroma: autumn leaves, light barnyard, red apples, wooden notes, Taste: medium sweet, light to medium bitter, light to medium sour, red apples, barnyard, autumn wet leaves, red apples, apple cake, wooden notes, Palate: medium body, lively carbonation, slick to thick mouthfeel, long sour dry aftertaste, Overall: Quite interesting, complex palate of aromas and tastes, not the best balance, but enjoyed it.

mcberko (20847) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 27, 2015
On tap at The Beer Junction, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out medium sweet apples, champagne yeast and a little funk. Flavour is very sweet, but also with lots of farmhouse notes and funk. The high sweetness is an interesting juxtaposition on the funk. It somehow works in my opinion. I like it.
