COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a variation of our Wee Heavy Bourbon, this time having been aged in rye whiskey barrels from the USA. You can expect the same big malty flavours and aromas, along with complex warming sweetness that comes straight from the barrel, where a fine micro-distilled rye aged for many years. As always, this beer makes an excellent digestif and goes great with your favourite desert.

DeanF (2647) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 6, 2018
Strong aroma of cloying sugar and some brown sugar to add on top of all the sugar. Modest head and foggy copper brown body. Heavy malt and sugary barley character. Cloying finish. A little too much of everything.

Bottle shared by omhper, thanks. Grey head that goes down to a lingering lace. Clear amber color. Sweet caramell taste with typical belgian taste. Has a bit of rye smoothness.

Bottled. Hazy deep amber, small head. Pear, pepper and honey melon up front. Sweet with full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Gooseberry and caramel. Gewürztraminer. Low bitterness. Interesting and tasty.

Bouteille - 500ml. Solide.

Tasting at SF
Hazy brown color. Aroma of booze, and strong esters. Medium body, the booze is too evident; some caramel flavor, but basic lack of depth, and rye in the finish.
Ok beer, pretentious, failing to fulfill the promises.

650ml bottle @ the office. Pours a hazy brown with a thin white head. Nose is rye, caramel, and bourbon. Flavour is similar rye, bourbon, with some caramel and vanilla.

22 oz. bottle, sent from yourilevesque (thanks Youri), pours a hazy caramel brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of caramel upfront, with lots of bourbon, and some light earthiness. Flavour is heavy, with complementary notes of caramel and bourbon barrels, with a hint of vanilla. Light earthiness from the rye I guess, but it comes out as mostly bourbon character. Fairly boozy, but pleasantly so. Very good.

Oakes (19576) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 11, 2017
Hazy. Light tan. No head. So there’s a fairly good bit of rye happening here, and sweet figgy malts. There is a lot of figgy notes, rye, and there’s also a fair bit of barrel. So, woody, splash of alcohol in the finish. Maybe a little bit of bubblegum happening, but it’s not ruining it for me.

Aroma of rye, cookie, and pear. Taste is rye, malt, vanilla, and biscuit. Hazy amber with a thin tan head.

Bottle - Lots of caramel and woody notes. Deep dark brown with a rich beige head. Sweet whisky notes, caramel and light grains with a long sweet finish. Touch of Apple and booze throughout.
