Dark black, off-white head. Roasty, chocolate aroma. Chocolate flavours, not too bitter, kind of lactic. Watery behind its nitro-mask. Not bad. Draught. tiggmtl (4544) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2004
Huge roasted malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Dark black, opaque body with thick brown head that lasts (nitro). Touch of licorice, bitter chocolate, coffee grounds. in the flavour. Fairly lactic. Lasting roastiness. Creamy smooth mouthfeel but watery thin body. On tap at the brewpub. Sampled with Lubiere. Lubiere (13953) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 20, 2004
Great black beer with a sustained creamy moka head. Matly chocolate aroma with some hops. Bitterness from hops overlay the chocolate malts, with a touch of coffee grinds, a bit lactic . Good body, and creamy. austinpowers (2828) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 27, 2003
I didn't find this stout to be all that sweet, really. But it was rather coffee-ish. It was more like a dry stout. Smooth and mild. muzzlehatch (4963) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 31, 2003
Smooth and sweet, not syrupy, biscuits, good balance, nice lacing in the glass, quite drinkable milky stout.
