on tap at the brewpub. pours a completely black body with a thick creamy tan head, reminiscent of a nitro beer. aroma is strong with coffee, but also held a bit of sweetness that i had a hard time specifying. the taste was excellent, a very solid blend of roasted coffee, malts and some sweet chocolates at the end. it had a great sweet coffee aftertaste, with almost no bitterness at all. my only complaint is that the body was a little light and watery. i am seeing that as a pattern in my ratings for this brewpub, maybe that is just their style, but i like a little more body, especially in a beer like this. still in all, an excellent beer. solidfunk (9734) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - NOV 18, 2012
Decent stout. Better than a guiness. A little malty, a little nutty bitterness. Some roast aromas. Not very sweet really. Pours pretty black. Notes got sketchy by this time of night. On tap at brewpub. Viper666 (3290) - Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 14, 2013
(hiver 2005-06) austinpowers (2831) - San Francisco, California, USA - MAY 27, 2003
I didn't find this stout to be all that sweet, really. But it was rather coffee-ish. It was more like a dry stout. Smooth and mild. OKBeer (1175) - Halifax, Nova Scotia, CANADA - JUN 14, 2004
Jet black, opaque, with a thick, creamy, nitro, tan coloured head. Coffee / cappaccino and chocolate aroma. Slowly growing coffee and chocolate bitterness, drying out on the finish. Dry and lightish mouthfeel. On tap at the brewpub.

A beutiful black beer with bubbles that runs downwards as a real stout, top that off with a thick creamy brown head. The aroma is slightly roasted, while the flavor is lovely sweet and roasted, combined with notes of nuts. The mouthfeel is very smooth. I have a hard time really describing it - but it is a really nice stout. beerbuzzmontreal (3486) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2005
Pours a black color with a medium creamy light brown head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Enjoyable flavor of chocolate, roasted malt with lactic notes. It’s a nitro stout, so the palate is very smooth and creamy but the body is a tad to light. A good easy to drink stout. Gorbalev (3000) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2006
. On tap at the brewpub. Pitch black, creamy big tan heads - looks about as it good as it can, I loved it. Nitro kills aroma - mild roast, but that’s it. Very dry, roast, oatmeal taste. Medium creamy body, but despite the nitro (or accentuated by it) it is too thin. Stays dry to the end. A very tasty session stout. DougShoemaker (3146) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 26, 2006
Coffee and dark chocolate aroma, dark brown, small toffee head. Flavour is a full roast coffee, chocolate comes along afterward. Very sour/bitter, with a much appreciated dry finish. Quite nice. Sammy (13000) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 24, 2007
Above-average beer (though only average stout) enjoyed on-tap at the brewpub.Cold coffee that has been roasted but is creamy, definately affected by the nitro-tap treatment. Astringent bitter yet still well malted. Coffee aroma. Grainy and creamy mouthfeel. Surprising 33 IBU and under 5% abv.
