Cloudy brown pour with a thin offwhite head. Good aroma and flavor of nuts, caramel and chocolste. The body is light and the carbonation is gentle. Im not fond of brown ales but this one is really good.

Clear brown body topped by a long-lasting medium beige head. Shy aroma hints on a generous maltiness and citrusy hops. Smooth pillowy body with lots of cake malts and medium fruity notes. Malt-wise it doesnt taste very nutty. More like a cross between basic brown cake and a fruity cake. Maybe even a little vinous with its fruity notes. The beer also proposes a generous amount of juicy citrusy hops but I dont think it meshes well with the brown-cake malt profile. Mild-medium juicy bitterness. Decent beer although for a Nut Brown Ale it sure wasnt very nutty. For a Cheval Blanc beer this is just average. I wont make a big detour to have it again. Although it would be fair to specify that I live next to this brewpub.

Draught pint, as "Nut Brown Ale", at the brewpub on June 15 2007 after MartinTs birthday party. Dark chocolaty-brown with little head....decent, if light and somewhat unobtrusive caramel/nutty aroma, quite fresh....light, fairly dry on the tongue, smooth with just a touch of dry bitter hops at the finish...decent, highly quaffable but also forgettable example.

Deep dark brown color, with some reddish highlights, and a tan-colored head, bready malt, rich sweet dark caramel malt in the nose, with a nice nutty and toffeeish aromas. Full-bodied with a good nutty character of brazilian nuts, dark caramelized malt, a chocolatey hint, balanced by a floral hops accent, leading towards a nutty note and a lingering hops bittering finish.

Nutty, spicy, red berries and sweet malts in the nose with very apparent yeast. Hazy, almost opaque, muddy brown with a decent and lasting cover of off-white head that leaves some nice lacing as it recedes. Assertive bitterness up front is chased by light, vinous, fruity tones and cereal malts before re-establishing itself in the aftertaste. Medium-light body with moderate carbonation that is engaging on the tongue. On tap at the brewpub with Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.
