On tap at the brewpub. Hazy yellow with medium off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, some citrus and a weird but not overwhelming smell I could compare to cabbage soup. Flavor is Buckwheat, spices, cereals, some fruity notes and a moderately bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 22, 2009
In short: A slightly spicy/herbal, dry and semi-wild Saison beer. Good beerPilsnerPeter (3046) - Flushing, New York, USA - JAN 8, 2009
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Partly cloudy dark blonde topped by a persistent small white head
In long: Pleasant wild and slightly nose that reaches barnyard character when shaking the beer. Body of smooth and fluffy with an adequate semi-lively carbonation. Dry grainy malts with a salad croutons flavour. Rather yeasty. Light dried citrus and apricots flavour. The beer uses buckwheat and it is well integrated and doesn’t overdo it like too many buckwheat beers. Brings out some kind of dry/dusty coriander-like character to the beer. The dust and dry herbal spiciness create a pretty dry finish. The spiciness may become too tiresome for a session beer but the same can be said with just about any session beer. Not very tasty and with that type of beer less is often better. A pretty decent one-pint beer. Different yet so smooth that even neophyte can order it and feel adventurous, as adventurous as going to the movies without knee pads.
Tap at the Brewpub: Listed as Saison de Sarrazin. (Not sure if it’s a new beer, but I’ll put the rating here for now) Pours a cloudy golden with a dense off white film of head. Aroma has a run of the mill Saison character- touch of spicy notes, estery with a light hoppy fruitiness as well of apricot. Mildly carbonated. Simple flavor with a light fruity background of, again, apricots. Seems a bit watered down/attenuated. Finishes with a light nondescript spiciness. Not bad, just boring. beerbuzzmontreal (3487) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 10, 2007
Pours a hazy yellow color with a thin white head. Very good aroma and flavor of coriander and buckwheat, the coriander is well dosed, enough to be present but not to a point of being too much. The body is light with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. Well done, this brewery is very good with spices.

Hazy amber hue, with a tan-colored head, yeasty, toasted malt, with some coriander, peppery notes, faint fruitiness, and a subtle floral hops in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty grainy cereals, and toasted malt, character with a peppery accent, hints of nutmeg, coriander spiciness, with a touch of gingerbread, with a hop leafiniess, leading towards a spicy, hops bittering finish. I had a pint of this yesterday the Cheval Blanc brewpub. Orange color with a small white head. Aroma of spice and malt, taste is the same with some fruity notes. Fizzy. Not a bad choice if you go there. Lubiere (13963) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 1, 2007
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2011 An hazy golden ale with a thin supercreamy white head. A light sweet caramel malt with pleasant floral notes, and light butterscotch. In mouth, a sweetish malt with light solvent notes, some herbaceous hops, and light fruits, like berries. Lighter bodied. Difficult to make out the coriander which is claimed to be added to this beer, which also makes me doubt that this is a Hefeweizen. 7-3-6-2-12 Quevillon (3107) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 28, 2006
On tap at brewpub, Dec. 4 2010, as Coup de Grisou: A golden belgian ale with a thin white head. In aroma, pleasant spices with loads of fruits, coriander and orange peels. In mouth, a nice Belgian ale with juniper berries, coriander, quite classy. 8-3-8-3-14

12 oz. glass on tap at the brewpub. App.: cloudy, orangey-straw, small white head. Aroma: grassy, wheat-like, yeasty, a bit fruity (peaches) and spicey (coriander), grainy and a slight cheese stink. Palate: med.-light body, a little astringent, a bit effervescent. Flav.: grassy, green, coriander, a little malt (fruitiness), kinda perfumy. A nice blend of sour and bitter in the fairly dry finish.
