A dark amber ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel and mandarines, very typed and pleasant, ightly buttery. In mouth, a flavourful bitter ale with biscuit malt, sustained hops bitterness, grain mash. Very nice. Medium bodied. Tasted at brewpub, August 2 2008.

2011-08-08. Lightly hazy orange amber body with an off white head. 3+ Flavour is pleasantly hoppy, modest citrus notes up front and moderate bitterness throughout. 6+ Modes hoppy aroma, mild grass and green leafy hop character. Light notes of lemon citrus. Average bodied palate. Simple but enjoyable, possibly my favourite of those I tried today. On tap at the brewpub, Levis

My Bottom Line:
This 3% Bitter offers lots of citrusy and leafy hop flavors and bitterness in a quenching mouthfeel fit for long sessions.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the cloudy light amber.
-This beer’s main downfall, imho, is its distinct lack of malt definition. Some refinement at that level would make this a stellar session brew.
-The potent hop bitterness is also herbal.
-Carbonation is soft and the mouthfeel never thin.
-I’d really love to try this on cask!

On tap at the brewpub.

[3874-20110808] Tap. Floral fruit aroma. Slightly hazy, orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Resin hops floral flavour has a lingering bitterness. Medium body is quite bitter. Good balance. (7/3/7/3/15) 3.5

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2014 pours dark golden-copper with a large white head, good retention and nice lacing. lively carbonation. caramel malts and fresh leafy hops - citrusy and slightly herbal (very nice profile). quenching. too aggressive carbonation, but overall it is a good session ale.

(Rating #2609)

Aroma: sweet caramel , malty nose with British hop profile. Bitter aromas sides. Good. 6+
Appearance: thick cloudy brown-amber look with medium light creamy top. 3-
Body/Flavour/Palate: Dry, crisp hop feel , leafy twig notes. Brit sided with slight sugary finish. Finishing with feel of black tea. Solid.

On tap at the brewpub. Nice gold pour with white head. Aroma is hoppy, kind of spicy hoppiness, black pepper, a bit of spruce. Taste has that sprucey bitterness, some caramel also present. The mix of hops is very nice - not particularly golding forward like a lot of bitters. Well carbonated, good finish. This is a superb session ale IMO, flavorful for the ABV. I could drink it all night.

Style et résumé: Bitter agréable.
Comment: Canette de 473ml. Lot # 19042016 040
Note: 7/10

Can - 473ml. Hazy amber body with a thick, diminishing off-white frothy head. Its fresh, well balanced malty/hoppy aroma is rather thin. It carries some grassy and flowery hints. Decent hoppy taste with woody notes. Ends with a good bitter finish. Not bad at all.
