473 ml can. Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium white head. The aroma is restrained, I can smell some malt, but not much hops. The flavor has a well-balanced blend of crisp, malt, some honeyish sweetness and hops, it feels quite clean and refreshing. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and moderate carbonation. Interesting.

Sample tray. Gold. Light scent. Subdued, not strong hops but the flavour does pick up through the glass and linger on the tongue after the liquid is gone.

Shining clear golden pour topped by a fair head. I certainly don’t regret not having let my heart wander into the selection of a sampler tray at Le Corsaire. It would have been easy enough with 10 beers on, but I would have missed on a full glass of this genuine pilsner. While not particularly aromatic, it is clean, crisp and highly focused. Very light-bodied and drinkable, it uses a sharp carbonation to increase its vitality feel and is clearly german in nature with its purity, dry body and gently sulphury notes which are fitting. Limited malt character, but pleasant grassy hop finish. Delicate and very refreshing.

(Rating #1903)

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Honeyed pilsner malts envelop the Saaz hoppiness which contributes its herbaceous goodness throughout each sip of this sweetish Pils.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the clear dark golden.
-Style freaks will say the final gravity on this was a tad too high; the body is too round and a bit too sweet.
-Carbonation is quite soft for the style.
-This remains a cleanly-brewed quencher throughout and should provide a nice re-introduction to the style to those who think a Pils is a Labatt Blue.
-The can has pretty much the same sweetish flavor profile.

On tap at the brewpub and from the can.

A golden pils with a thin white head. A pleasant fresh grainy malt aroma with light German hops. In mouth, a pleasant pils with lightly biscuitty malt, hops, and mineral notes. A refreshing offering. On tap at brewery August 3 2008.

17/06/08 Froide Rating#15 Jaune "jus de pomme", anneau mince de mousse, effervescence faible à nulle. Arômes de fermentation et de citronelle. Corps moyennement mince, effervescence nulle. Saveurs de malt....on dirait une boisson de malt sans aucunes autres saveurs. Amertume symbolique, aqueuse. Manque de corps et d’amertume.
