Rating #2583 - 2017.08.03 - Bottle at @beerblast Le Quebec event. Aroma is potent, quite a bit of vanilla/rum on the nose Taste is more of that cloying vanilla sweetness, with some rummy/boozy accents. Character of vanilla and rum never supplemented, body is a bit thin. Understandably the most popular beer of the evening...

On tap @ Mondial de la Biere 2017, Montreal. Deep orange-amber, small off white head. Holy moly this is sweet!! Cotton candy and sugary rum, after a few sips this tastes strangely like cream soda. Couldn’t even get through a 4oz sample-- just too sweet for me.

500ml bottle pours amber in colour with a finger of white head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and rum with some hints of vanilla. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with some vanilla and a light hoppy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a very malt forward brew with a bit of help from the rum, but pretty unremarkable.

On tap at La Prohibition. Amber with reddish notes, nice dence foam with lacing. Aroma of sweet butter scoth ! Vegetable and spyce you say ??? Taste is very sweet, burned maple syrup ? Whit notes of butter scotch and spirits ? For sure, it’s far from the style advertised. It you... sweet, medium body and carbonation. Sweet finish of butter scotch.

Bottle. Sweet vanilla Malibu rum and cotton candy aroma. Flavour is like aroma, though not really sweet. Cream soda. Medium light body, moderate carbonation, smooth.

Pours clear amber with a small fizzy head that quickly disappears. Aroma is sweet rum and toffee. Taste is much the same. A little too sweet but a nice warming sensation from the rum. Too one dimensional.
