czar (9503) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 6, 2016
on tap on the premises - mtl. almost clear light brown pour, orange-red tint, with a very creamy beige head, nice lacing. sweetish toasted fruity grains, lots of cherries, cherry coke *TM, no lagering notes per se, pepper, clean yeast, minerals. almost foamy carbonation, light body - watery, semi-sweet cherry coke finish. awkward schwartz but not uninteresting, should you enjoy dr. pepper-akin soft drinks.

Bamsen78 (5574) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JUL 23, 2015
Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy nearly black with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of caramel malt, with notes of yeast and touches of hops. Sweetish flavour of yeast, malt and caramel, with subtle hoppy notes and touches of fruit. Bitter, slightly roasty aftertaste with acetic hints. Soft carbonation. Easy to drink and not bad for the style.

3.3
VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - APR 26, 2015
On tap at brewpub. A ruby reddish black with a resilient, creamy beige head. Aroma is ashey, roasty, chocolatey. Flavor is red berries, roasty and chocolate. Finish is ash and roast. Strange, annoying, lingering windex-y flavor. Medium body, soft mouthfeel. Off flavor at the end kind of went and ruined it.

2.4
brokensail (16670) - Dublin, California, USA - MAR 2, 2015
On tap @ Le Saint Bock. Almost black with a tan head. A buttery and roasty aroma. Some graham cracker and maybe coffee grounds? The flavor is a little better. It’s more just sweet malt and graham cracker than anything. Unsalted butter, some grass, and a little coffee. Hints of berry jam on the finish.

Dark brown pour. Thin head. The nose is quite rich and cocoaish. Brown malt and a bit of chewiness. Some soft tobacco and a bit of light pepper and some nice chewy sweetness.

3.5

Belle robe foncé, peu fumé, boisé et acide en bouche, peu d’amertume. Correct mais pas enthousiasmant.

3.6
hivemind (933) - New York, New York, USA - JAN 17, 2012
Tap at Le Saint-Bock with Andy, PJ, Niles. Pours dark gold with a heavy, patchy lacing. Smells yeastery and clean and tastes of airy fruit and some wood. Light bitterness. For some reason I think of birch. Pretty good.
